Illinois 60056 BOARD OF FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSIONERS Phone 847/870-5656 MINUTES November 6, 2006 Public Safety Building Fire Administrative Conference Room, 2nd Floor Chairman McKillop called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. Roll Call: Robert McKillop, Chairman John Arndt, Commissioner (arrived 5:35 p.m) Clyde Brooks, Commissioner George Busse, Commissioner Marie Cotten, Secretary Present: Richard Eddington, Police Chief Michael Figolah, Fire Chief APPROVAL OF MINUTES A motion was made by Commissioner Busse and seconded by Commissioner Brooks to accept the minutes of the October 11, 2006, meeting. Voice vote: Ayes: Brooks, Busse, Cotten, McKillop Nays: None Motion carried CLOSED SESSION A motion was made by Commissioner Busse and seconded by Commissioner Brooks to go into Closed Session for the purpose of approving closed session minutes. - Roll Call: Ayes: Brooks, Busse, Cotten, McKillop Nays: None Motion carried The Board reconvened with everyone present from the previous session. POLICE DEPARTMENT UPDATE Chief Eddington gave a brief report. FIRE DEPARTMENT UPDATE The Fire Chief reported on the new hire testing. Chief Figolah asked the Board's approval to use a new testing firm for the promotional process. After a brief discussion, a motion was made. Amotion was made by Commissioner Busse and seconded by Commissioner Brooks to endorse the Fire Chief's decision to go to one of three other testing firms and to choose the one found most appropriate for this promotional process. BOFPC RULES & REGULATIONS REVISIONS There was a brief discussion on the draftof revisions to the rules and regulations. There will be further discussion at the next meeting. OTHER BUSINESS The next meeting will be held on December 5, 2006, at 5: 15 p.m. There was also a brief discussion on the Illinois Fire & Police Commissioners Conference.
