A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT
WITH THE ELK GROVE RURA:{.. FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT
HEREAS, the Administration of the Village of Mount Prospect has reviewed the
ntract with the Elk Grove Rural Fire Protectiop District for the calendar year
975; and
HEREAS, the said Administration has recommended to the Mayor and Board of
rustees of the Village of Mount Prospect the adoption of the said agreement; and
HEREAS, the Mayor and Board qf Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect have
scerta~ned that entry in,to this agreement is for the best interests of the Village of
ount Prospect;
OW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES
F THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
ECTION ONE: That the President of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount
rospect is hereby authorized to sign and the Village Clerk of the Village of Mo~nt
rospect is hereby authorized to attest the agreement for rural fire protection made
part hereof and attached hereto as Exhibit I.
ECTION TWO: That the said agreement shall be effect~ve retroactively from Janu-
ry 1, 1975, and shall be binding upon the parties thereto and their successors
rough December 31, 1975.
ECTION THREE: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and
fter its passage and approval in the manIler provided by law.

ARTICLES OF AGREEMENT
ARTICLES OF AGREEMENT made and entered into this day
A.D. 1975, by and between THE ELK GROVE RURAL
of
FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT, A Municipal corporation, Elk Grove
Township, Cook County, Illinois, (hereinafter referred to as
the "First party") and the VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, a Municipal
corporation, Wheeling and Elk Grove Townships, Cook County,
Illinois, (hereinafter referred to as "second party"):
WHEREAS, the First party and the second party are municipal
corporations organized under the respective statutes in such case
made and providedi and
WHEREAS, the First party is desirous of obtaining a contract
from the Second party for the purpose of providing fire protection
and fire prevention services to that certain territory outlined
in red on Exhibit A attached hereto (which area so outlined con-

stitutes the entire and only area to be services by the Second party
for the - First party ); and
WHEREAS, the second party is willing to enter into a contract
with the First party to supply such services to said area.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS AGREED, ACKNOWLEDGED AND UNDERSTOOD BY
AND BETWEEN THE FIRST PARTY AND THE SECOND PARTY AS FOLLOWS:
ARTICLE I: THAT for the period beginning January 1, A.D.

Second party shall furnish all fire fighting, fire protection,
fire prevention and emergency services by such volunteer and/or
paid on call or regular firemen avilable to the Second party, as
the Fire Chief of the second party shall determine, to the First
party for said area outlined in red on Exhibit A attached hereto.

ARTICLE II: THAT for the period of time during which these
Articles shall be in full force and effect First party agrees to
pay to and the Second party. agrees to accept as full payment for
said fire fighting protection and fire prevention services and
emergency services that amount of monies received as tax receipts
collection and interest received thereon in the year 1975 less all
costs of running the said district including but not limited to all
administrative legal salaries and other expenses incurred and less,
the amount of monies to be paid to the village of Mount prospect
under a particular Agreement for the year 1975 and the payment of
said sum shall be made in the manner following, to-wit:
A. The sum of $10,000.00 shall be paid upon the
execution of'the within Articles.
B. The sum of $10,000.00 on or before April 1, 1975.
C. The sum of $10,000.00 on or before July 1, 1975.
D. The balance remaining after all expenses have
been paid.

the sole exclusive right a~d responsibility to prescribe the manner
and method of giving the alarm for fire or other emergency in the
territory to be services by the Second party for the First party.
ARTICLE IV: THAT the Fire Chief designated by said second party
shall immediately upon arriving at the scene of any alarm or emergency
(or such other officers as may be designated by said Second party)
have the sole and exclusive authority and responsibility to direct
and control any and all fire fighting, fire protection, fire pre-
vention and emergency operations carried on at such scene or scenes,
and further, that any officers and/or firemen appointed by the First
party shall be subject to the order and direction of the Fire Chief
designated by the second party.

ARTICLE V: THAT all fire fighting, fire protection, fire pre-
vention and emergency procedures conducted under the provisions of
these Articles shall be under and in accordance with the regulations
and ordinances, if any, of the second party.
ARTICLE VI: THAT all expense of maintaining equipment, apparatus,
salaries, insurance premiums, and any,and all other items of expense
connected with the several services to be supplied by the second
party to the First party shall be supplied at the sole expense of the
Second party and that the only expense falling upon the First party
shall be the payments scheduled to be made hereinabove in Article II.
The party of the second part shall have the right to enter into
another agreement to contract their obligation under this Agreement,
running with thevillage of Arlington Heights, Illinois, for the
servicing at that area west of Meier Road and also Meier Road if
extended under this contract as per Exhibit A attached hereto.
ARTICLE VII: THAT the First party, shall within seven (7) days
of'receipt,.of notice 'of ahnexaticn':by a municipality :ofproper.ties_,=~
within its District forward a copy of saidn'oticewith the 'lega-l'~'
description contained therein, to the second party by addressing
said copy of notice to the attention of the village clerk, 112 East
Northwest Highway, Mount prospect, Illinois.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF the parties hereto have caused these Articles
to be executed by their respective officers and affixed hereunto
their respective corporate seals.
These Articles have been executed on behalf of the First party
pursuant to adoption thereof by a resolution of the executive body
