WHEREAS, the Board of Appeals of the Village of Jlibunt Prospect held a I
special rreeting on January 11, 1968 at the hour of 8 P.M. in the Mount Prospect....L
I Village Hall pursuant to proper notice published in the Mount Prospect Herald; ,!d
WHEREAS, the Board of Appeals of the Village of Mount Prospect heard
testimony presented under Case No. 68-4A pertaining to requests for additional
variations to the Mount Prospect sign ordinance by the petitioner; and
ORDINANCE NO. 2056
AN ORDINANCE GRANTING ADDITIONAL VARIATIONS FOR PROPERrY LOCATED ON THE
soum SIDE OF 'KENSINGTON ROAD BETWEEN WILSHIRE AVENUE AND RAND ROAD
WHEREAS, the Board of Appeals forwarded its recommendations regarding I
the several sign variations sought by the petitioner under Case No. 68-4A to I'
I the Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect; and
I WHEREAS, the petitioner appeared before the Board of Trustees of the
Village of Mount Prospect on January 23, 1968 and at that time presented
modifications to the requested variations; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of ~10unt
Prospect have reviewed the matter herein and have determined that the same is
in the best interests of the Village Of Mount Prospect;
I NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT,CooK COUNTY, IILINOIS:
SECTION 1: That the property being the subject matter of Case NO.68-4~,'
being legally described as: I
The North four hundred (400) feet of the '1est one
hundred forty (140) feet of the East two hundred eigp,ty
(280) feet of that part of the Northwest quarter of the
Northeast quarter of Section thirty four (34), Township
42 North, Range eleven (11) East of the Third Principal
Meridian lying Northeast of Rand Road, in Cook County,
Illinois
is currently zoned under the Zoning Ordinance of the Village of Mount Prospect
as R-l (single family residence) which zoning classification shall remain
subject to the variations gr-anted under Ordinance No. 1194 and the variations
granted under Section 1 (3) of Ordinance No. 2014 and the following variations:
(1) That a standard sign not exceeding a total height of
eighteen (18) feet as indicated on Exhibit 6 under
Case No. 68-4A may be installed and constructed on the
said property provided that said sign shall be set back
from the property line and lot line to such a location
that if said sign were to fall, same would fall entirely
within the subject property, and in no event less than
eighteen (18) feet from either property or lot line.
(2) That a ground sign not to exceed 4 ft. x 6 ft. may be
installed on the subject property with a minimum
setback of six (6) feet from the lot line.
(3) That the petitioner's request for a farm type haywagon not
to exceed twenty-four (24) feet in overall dimensions to be
used on the subject property as a means of attracting attention
is herein allowed on the subject premises so long as same is
stationary and does not become an attractive nuisance or
fire hazard.

SECTION 2: That the variations granted under Ordinance No. 2014,
Section 1, paragraphs 1 and 2 ~,hereby terminated and null and void.
SECTION 3: That all the requirements of the Village Code be
applicable except those variations granted under Ordinance No. 1194, Ordinance
No. 2014, except paragraphs 1 and 2 and the additional variations as specified
in Section 1 heretofore mentioned.
I SECTION 4: That the variations granted by this Ordinance shall be
null and void and of no force and effect whatsoever unless an application for
a sign permit pursuant to such variations is made and construction corrnnenced
within one year of the date said Ordinance becomes effective.
I SECTION 5: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
iafter its passage and approval in the manner provided by law.
