CALL TO ORDER - ROLL CALL MIND Q-0 II, ACCEPTANCE OF MINUTES OF OCTOBER 28r 1986 III, CITIZENS TO BE HEARD IV, PUBLIC WORKS FACILITY Representatives from the consulting firm of Donahue & Associates will present to the Mayor and Board of Trustees the results of the schematic phase of the Public Works facility study. Included 'in their presentation will be the site plan, including building elevations and site layout, elevation drawings and itemized cost estimates by program and type of construction, The specific site plan, elevation andcost figures are a direct result of numerous meetings between the consultants and staff and three separate meeting in which the direct input of elected officials was solicited. The costs as presented do not include land acquisition. It was felt that since the Village was still negotiating for various sites and that no firm cost for land could be identif 'led that inclusion of a "plug" figure would not be in keeping with the Board's desire to develop firm cost estimates, Therefore the costs as presented by Donahue & Associates include building, equipment, and site improvements, as well as design fees and a modest contingency factor. Included for your review is the report from Donahue & Associates, Representatives from Arlington Best Taxi Company will be appearing before the Mayor and Board of Trustees to request 3 0 operating licenses in order to operate their vehicles within the Village of Mount Prospect, Currently the Village' has authorized 28 licenses to American Cab and 10 to Community Cab. While we have authorized 38 operating licenses between American and Community a lesser number have actually been issued. Prospect Cab (Birks Transportation) to our knowledge, no longer operating as a cab company in the northwest suburbs. The 18 operating licenses authorized for Prospect Cab remain unused at this time. American Best Cab Company operates out of Arlington Heights and currently provides cab service in Arlington Heights, Elk Grove,, Palatine and Schaumburg. American Best has expressed a desire to expand its operations into Mount Prospect and has indicated that it is well versed in handling both senior citizens and handicapped persons. Prior to the Committee of the Whole meeting, the Village Manager's Office will interview representatives from Arlington Best Taxi and apprise them of the Village's policies with regards to service to senior citizens, handicapped and the public generally,, A Public Hearing has been scheduled for this meeting, pursuant to proper legal notice being published in accordance - with our Village Code, If the Board so desires, it would be appropriate ♦ authorize, by motion,30 operating licenses for Arlington Best at the next regular • of it Istee George Van Geem has requested that the • of astees salaries be placed on i of the Whole zgenda for general discussion, r• r copy of the Village Code stating the current policy and salary of • • VII* MANAGER'S REPORT 1.
