BE IT OP.DAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUS'IEES OF THE VILLAGE OF lVOUNT
PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, IlLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: That Chapter 5 of the Municipal Code of Mount Prospect of 1957,
as amended, be and the same is hereby further amended by adding thereto
Articles XIII and XIV, creating and establishing an Industrial I.:evelopment
and Economic Commission, and an Insurance Commission, respectively, for the
Vill8.;;;~ of Mount Prospect, so that the said Articles XIII and XIV of Chapter
5 shall hereafter be and read as follo'..-,Ts:

INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPf,ENT AND ECONOMIC COf'.'!MISSION
Section 5.1301. Creation and Purpose.
There is hereby established a citizens commission which shall be knovln as the
"Industrial Development and Economic Cormnission of the Village of Mount Pros-
pect" for the purpose of establishing a plan to implement the proper indus-
trial develpment and economic balance within the corporate limits of the Vil-
lage of Mount Prospect.
Section 5.1302. ~embership.
A. The voting rrembers of the Industrial Development and Economic Commission
shall be five (5) residents of the Village of fJIount Prospect.
1. The appointrrents to this Commission shall be made by the President
I>li th the advice and consent of the Board of Trustees. In the de-
tennination of such appointments, consideration shall be given to
the appointees' background relating to industry and cormnerce.
2. The term of office to this Corrrnission shall be for a period of three
(3) years, or until their successors are appointed and qualified.
However, members appointed at the onset shall be for the following
terms :
2 members for a three (3) year term
2 members for a two (2) year term
1 member for a bne (1) year term
Successors to be appointed for three (3) year terms.
3. Iv'Iembers may succeed themselves, and shall serve without compensation.
B. The ex-officio or non-voting members shall be the Village President and
the Chairman of the Plan Commission of the Village, or his designee.
Section 5.1303. Organization.
A. Irmnediately upon its organization, the Industrial Development and Economi
Commission shall select from its membership a chairman, vice-chairman, and
secretary. fue persons so selected shall serve for terms of one year, aYld
may be re-elected to said position.
B. 'lbe Commission shall adopt rules for the conduct of its meetings and keep
wri tten minutes of all meetings and other proceedings.
C. All meetings of the Commission shall be public and its minutes shall be
available for examination in the office of the Village Clerk during regular

Section 5.1604. Reports and Recomnendations.
The Industrial Developnent and Economic Commission shall make periodic re-
ports on its progress and findings and shall make its recanmendations to the
President and Board of Trustees regularly, but not less than every six (6)
months.

THE INSURANCE COf'.11'vIISSION
Section 5.1401. Creation and Purposes.

Insurance Commission of the Village of f'.~ount Prospect" for the purpose of ad-
equately determining the fulfilling the insurance needs and protection for th
municipal corporation of the Village of l'/Iount Prospect, and to work with the
Finance Committee of the Board of Trustees of the Village of rJbunt Prospect t
carry out the said purposes.
Section 5.1402. Membership.
A. The voting membership of the Insurance Commission shall be three (3) resi
dents of the Village of Mount Prospect.
1. The appointnents to this Commission shall be made by the Village
President with the advice and consent of the Board of Trustees and
in the determination of such appointment, consideration shall be
gi ven to the appointee's knowledge of, and experience and background
in the fire and casualty insurance field.
2. The term of office to this Corrrnission shall be for a period of three
(3) years, or until such members t successors are appointed and quali-
fied. Hm<1ever, nembers appointed at the onset shall serve as follows

lage Trustee presiding as Chairman of the Finance Committee of the Board of
Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect.
Section 5.1403. Organization.
A. Inmediately upon its organization, the Commission shall select from its

shall serve for the term of one year. and may be re-elected to said position.
B. The commission shall adopt rules for the conduct oT its meetings and keep
written minutes of all meetings and other proceedings.
C. All meetings of the Commission shall be public and its minutes shall be
available for examination in the office of the Village Clerk during :regular
business hours.
Section 5.1404. Meetings.
A. Regular meetings of the Insurance Commission shall take place quarterly
upon the first 1tlednesday of the months of June, September, I.:ecember and March
of each year, at the hour of 8:00 P. M. in the r.10unt Prospect Village Hall.

B. Special meetings may be called by the Presiding Chairman of the Insurance
Canmission and any other member of the said Commission, whether voting or non-
voting, acting in concert and upon a twenty-four (24) hour written notice to
all other members of the Connnission and the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Mount Prospect.
Section 5.1405. Reports and Recornrrendations.
The Insurance Conrnission shall make a report on its progress and findings, and
shall send the same along "lith recormnendations to the President and Board of
Trustees wi thin thirty (30) days after each meeting of the Insurance Commis-
sion.
SECTION TIiJO: That those members presently serving on the Industrial Develop-
ment and Economic Conmission and the Insurance Conrnission created by Resolu-
tions 8-68 and 32-68, respectively, shall continue in office for the duration
of their respective terms - after which the membership shall be for a period
of three (3) yearse
SECTION THREE: That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage, approval and publication in the manner provided by
law.
