PAVLOCK, CHIEF OF POLICE SUBJECT: RETIREMENT/PROMOTION DATE: JANUARY 28, 1986 Sergeant Wil1ia m Brod lcka,,,IRe t i. r m me n t After twenty-two years of service to the Village of Mount Prospect Police Department Sergeant William Broderick has retired effective January 24, 1986. Sergeant Broderick served twenty of his twenty-two years as a supervisor and watch commander. He and his wife, Wanda, will be residing in the northwest suburbs as Sergeant Broderick has accepted a new career position with Sears Roebuck & Company in their Corporate Security Division. Per your direction, a retirement plaque has been ordered to be presented by the Mayor and Village Board at the February 4, 1986 Village Board meeting. Sergeant Broderick will also be honored on February 21, 1986 at a retirement party organized by the Mount Prospect Police Association. Officer Steve Leonard -Promotion With the retirement of Sergeant Broderick a vacancy for the position of sergeant was created. At the January 20, 1986 Board of Fire and Police Commissioners meeting, upon my recommendation, the next individual on the sergeants eligibility list was certified for promotion effective January 24, 1986. That individual is Officer Steve Leonard who recently completed the intensive assessment center process administered by the BOFPC. Steve Leonard will be present at the February 4, 1986 Board meeting for the ceremonial swearing-in by BOFPC Chairman Henry Friedrichs. Steve Leonard is a 14 year veteran of the Mount Prospect Police Department and has served as High School Liaison Officer, Field Youth Officer and Police Explorer Advisor and also serves on the retirement committee on the Mount Prospect Police Association. Steve has also earned a Bachelor's and a Master's degree. Steve and his wife, Mary, and their two children reside in Arlington Heights. He has been serving for the past few months as an Administrative Officer, working on the accreditation process as
