AN ORDINANCE VACATING AN UNIMPROVED PUBLIC SIDEWALK
WHEREAS, 65 ILCS 5/11-91-1 of the Illinois Revised Statutes, as amended, authorizes
the vacation of a municipal street, sidewalk or alley, or part thereof, by passage of an
Ordinance by at least a three-fourths vote of the Trustees of the Village; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect find
that the public interest of the Village of Mount Prospect will be served by vacating an
unimproved 20 foot area dedicated for public sidewalk, legally described as follows:
That part of Town Development Co. We-Go Park Unit No. 1, recorded as
Document 15940921 on June 22, 1954, adjoining Lams Court to the
southwest, and adjoining Lots 22, 39 and 40 and labeled as a 20 foot
crosswalk. Also that part of Town Development Co. We-Go Park Unit No.
2, recorded as Document 16226233 in Book 443 of Plats, page 2
designated as 20 feet wide and adjoining Lots 75, 76, 95, 96 and 98.
The Northeasterly and Southwesterly lines of this 20 foot wide vacation
shall originate and/or terminate at the right of way lines of Dresser Drive,
Cathy Lane and Lams Court, all being in the north half of Section 11,
Township 41 North, Range 11, East of the third Principal Meridian, Cook
County, Illinois
and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect,
pursuant to proper legal notice having been published in the Mount Prospect Herald on
the 21st day of August, 1997, did hold a public hearing on September 16, 1997, for the
purpose of considering the vacation of an unimproved public sidewalk located within
the Town Development Co. We Go Park Unit No.1 and 2 Subdivisions, being the
subject of this Ordinance; and
WHEREAS, it was determined by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of
Mount Prospect that the best interests of the Village would be served by passage of
this Ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: That the recitals set forth hereinabove are incorporated as findings of
fact by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect.
SECTION TWO: That the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount
Prospect do hereby authorize the vacation of an unimproved public sidewalk, legally
described as:
That part of Town Development Co. We-Go Park Unit No. 1, recorded as
Document 15940921 on June 22, 1954, adjoining Lams Court to the
southwest, and adjoining Lots 22, 39 and 40 and labeled as a 20 foot
crosswalk. Also that part of Town Development Co. We-Go Park Unit No.
2, recorded as Document 16226233 in Book 443 of Plats, page 2
designated as 20 feet wide and adjoining Lots 75, 76, 95, 96 and 98.

SECTION THREE: That upon passage and approval of this Ordinance, the Village
Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to file a certified copy of this Ordinance,
together with a fully executed Plat of Vacation with the Recorder of Deeds of Cook
County, Illinois, a copy of said Plat of Vacation is attached hereto and hereby made a
part hereof.
SECTION FOUR: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage, approval and publication in pamphlet form in the manner provided by law.
