This ordinance comes to the Board with no recommendation since the Committee vote was 1-0-1. This ordinance is based on the Federal and State regulations and sets guidelines that must be considered before signs can be installed. Passage of this ordinance would not be blanket authorization to ull signs that do not meet the warrants, but to be used to: (1 set guidelines for the further erection of ► and (2) set guidelines for th administration to use in studying and making recommendations regarding the signs now existing. I The Committee recommends passage of this ordinance by a vote of 2-0. This ordinance would set the criteria for sight distanc on all uncontrolled intersections in the Village. Exclusions to the sight distance obstructi,6ns would be trees as long as they are trimmed high enough to -Wow visibility, street light poles, gas lights, etc. The triangle would be measured on the sidewalk back thirty-five feet and the sight distance ordinance would apply in this area. No shurbs or plantings over 36" in height would be allowed, since lives cannot be sacrificed for beauty and esthetics. I The Committee recommdnds_,,by a vote of 2-0, to designate the streets recommended by the Village Engineer and Safety Commission. These are also the streets recommended in the Crawford, Bunte & Roden Traffic Survey. The Committee would like to thank Chief Pairitz for showing the fil on the firing of fireworks and can realize the fire prevention concern in this area.
