Floros; Trustees N. Murauskis, E.F. Richardson Also Present:Acting Village Manager Ed Geick and Director of Community Development Tom Murphy L�-uor License Re uest -`Pup Room, 1520 N. Elmhurst Road: Messrs. L. B. and Sandy Feinglass appeared before the Committee to request a Class W liquor license for a new sandwich shop to he opened later this year in the shopping center at the southwest corner of Route 83 and Camp McDonald Road. A Class W license is for beer and wine only to be served on premises. The Pup Room will have seating for 81 patrons. It will be one of 11 stores in the new shopping center. The owners plan to serve draft beer only in conjunction with their sandwich menu. One of the owners, Sandy Feinglass, is a resident of Mount Prospect. The Committee voted 3-0 for the creation of a Class W license to be issued to the Pup Room. Arlington ITBeverage, PoD Shop, -1326 W. Central Road: Robert J. Phelps, owner of Arlington Beverages, appeared before the Committee to request a license that would permit him to sell beer and wine only for off -premises consumption. Arlington Beverages presently bottles and sells a full line of soft drinks. Mr. Phelps purchased this business about a year ago. The previous owner had applied for a packaged goods liquor license some years ago and had been turned down by the Village Board. It is Mr. Phelps' plan to sell unrefrigera- ted beer and wine only, even though a package goods license would permit him to carry a full line of liquor items. The store presently closes at 6 p.m. nightly and at 8 p.m. on Fridays. The Committee voted 2-1 (Chairman Floros opposing) to create a new liquor license classification to permit sale of beer and wine only for off -premises consumption, and to issue such license to Arlington Beverages. Downtown Parking: The Committee discussed with Tom Murphy the the Village acquire and then deck 3 lots on of Central Road and across the street from Printed on 100% Recycled Paper suggestion he made that Emerson Street just wouth the Library building. fi Finance Committee Meeting 6-29-78 Page 2.. Two of those lots are presently owned by the Mount Prospect State Bank. Mr. Murphy's proposal is outlined as Item #2 in a memo dated May 30, 1978 and directed to the Acting Village Manager. A copy of that memo is attached. Finance Commission Chairman Jack Ronchetto and Zoning Board of Appeals member Ralph Arthur participated in the ensuing 'discussion. The Committee directed Mr. Murphy to pursue discussion with the Mount Prospect State Bank to establish firmly the Bank's interest in cooperating in such a project. The Committee will continue discussion on the subject at its July meeting. Kennicott Property/Acquisition of Lonnc�uist�Boulevard Right of -Wad: Acting Village Manager Ed Geick reported on his discussions to date with Mr. Kennicott and the Mount Prospect Park District relative to the possible acquisition from Mr. Kennicott of a strip of land that would permit completion of L.onnquist Boulevard west of Clearwater Park. The Committee recommended (and the Village Board approved at the July 5 meeting) that the Acting Village Manager be authorized to negotiate a sale/trade with Mr. Kennicott and the Park District.
