INTEROFFICE MEMORANDUM nu an Um
TO: Village Manager
Department Heads
FROM: Director Public Works
DATE: March 11, 1991
SUBJECT: Coffee with Council
Saturday, March 9, 1991
Attending this month's Coffee with Council were Mayor Farley,
Trustee Weibel, and Trustee Corcoran; and (representing Village
Administration) Assistant Village Manager John Burg and Public
Works Director Herb Weeks.
Mr. & Mrs. Douglas Lamb of 710 Dresser Drive brought in a warn-
ing ticket that they received from the Police for parking a car
across the sidewalk. As they explained, they have a one -car
garage and, with three sons living at home, they have a total of
six cars. Mr. & Mrs. Lamb are concerned, as they have no other
place to park these vehicles. There is a van that Mr. Lamb
stated they were getting rid of this summer, and there is always
the possibility that one or more of their sons will soon move to
their own apartment(s). Mr. & Mrs. Lamb asked for relief, on a
temporary basis, and for permission to encroach on public right-
of-way during the hours of no -parking by ordinance. Assistant
Village Manager Burg was directed by the mayor and trustees to
contact the Police Department for a temporary permit allowing
this violation until a permanent solution could be found.
Mr. Lamb also indicated that he had a lot of brush and logs from
a willow tree in his rear yard that needed to be disposed of.
He was advised that the regular scavenger service will remove
all yard material from the parkway after April 1, provided that
it is bundled into 4' lengths, with the weight of each bundle
not exceeding 50 lbs.
Mr. Frank Smith of 903 Quince Lane commented that some graffiti
at a culvert underneath the Soo Line center tracks still has not
been removed. Assistant Manager Burg was directed by the trust-
ees to write another letter to the railroad requesting prompt
corrective action be taken.
