RE: COFFEE WITH COUNCIL 1/13/90
The monthly "Coffee With Council" was held January 13, 1990. Trustee
Ralph Arthur, Village Manager John Fulton Dixon and Director of
Inspection Services Chuck Bencic were in attendance.
Residents attending the meeting and items discussed were:
1) Mr. & Mrs. Merrill Cotten - 2710 Briarwood Drive West
Mr. & Mrs. Cotton were questioning the status of a traffic
signal at Briarwood Drive and Algonquin Road. The Village
Manager informed the Cottons that the State has this sign4l
on their priority list of signals and that the ,point agreement
between ttae Village and State is being processed!. When
Processed, ihe signal would be on the State's program for
this fiscal years construction..

Don & Dayl Normondt - 904 See Gwun
At December's Coffee Wi th ' Counci l , Mr- Ziervic had submitted
list of questions concerning tine 1973 Supplemental Flood
Control Report. Mr. Ziervic had received a copy of the
H94ager's memo to the Board concerning the Flood Control
R pbrt but wanted more of a detailed explanation on some

Trustee Arthur and the Village Manager answered most of
Mr. Ziervic's questions and dispelled the "rumors". Mr.
Ziervic said he and the residents of his area on See Gwun
will continue to monitor the actions of the Village on the
flooding problems and hope to see some solutions in the
form of construction projects not just another study. They
will also be concerned on how the Village "prioritizes"
the flood prone areas to be studied.
3) Mr. Harold b Doris Rentshler - 424 Larkdale Ln.
Mr. Rentschler questioned the status of the proposed
downspout ordinance. He also questioned the status of
Village actions on the property at 628 Bob -O -Link (Ochoa
property). Mr. Rentshler was very disappointed in that
it seems no action had been taken to remove the garage
which is in very bad shape and clean up the debris in the
yard.
The Village Manager informed Mr. Rentschler that the Village
had taken the property owner to court twice already and
had received two Judgements against him. The problem is
the Judgements are monetary only and do not enforce
demolition of the garage.
The Manager will confer with the Village Attorney to see
what further action the Village can take to enforce repair
or demolition of the garage.
Mr. Rentschler had photos of debris at Bob -O -Link and Forest,
construction material, and at Bob -O -Link and Elmhurst - brush
piles. He requested the contractor and/or Public Works clean
the debris up.
Mr. Rentschler also commended the Village on the detailed
study being done on downtown redevelopment and hoped the
same effort would be put into the studies on developments
everywhere in town. He especially felt a more detailed
study would be done on the Rand/Euclid area where the Orchard
Green Shopping Center is proposed. Mr. Rentschler is opposed
to commercial development in this area and feels a detailed
study would show this area should be residential.
Trustee Arthur indicated that any proposal for development
in this area or any area of town would go through all
°requi-red processes- and hearings by the Village and each
development would be judged on its own merits.
