Re: Finance Committee Meeting, April 28, 1981
Chairman Miller called the meeting to order at 8:00.
Present were: Chairman Ed Miller, Trustees E. F. Richardson and
T. J. Wattenberg, Director of Management Services Martha Peppler.
Liquor License applicants were also present.

Mr. Joseph Cicerchia was present to .request thatn'tlass,hlicense
held by Carl's Pizza be granted to him as the new uw'ne'h°`of that business.
The Health Department and the Police Department have no problems with
Mr. Cicerchia or the business as it is currently operated. The Committee
asked about the sign in front of the business. Mr. Cicerchia indicated
that he intended to make some improvements; he was directed to discuss
his plans with the Community Development Department before finalizing
his plans for the sign.
The'Committee agreed to report their recommendation at the next°Board
meeting .to issue the license for,Carl's Pizza to Rutina, Inc., Mr.
Joseph Cicerchia.
Li uor License A lioation - Stagger Lee's
Due to administrative complications, this application was not on the
agenda. The Committee agreed to hear the application license because;
the owner, Mr. Donald D'Antone and his attorney, Mr. Bernie Lee, were
present.
This is an application for a Class B license consumption on premises
only, for a restaurant -bar at 303 Kensington, commonly known as The
Barn. Mr. D'Antone currently owns a successful restaurant in Crystal
Lake. the establishment has been extensively remodeled in a 50's
theme; and will have a menu with appetizers and sandwiches. They
plan to be open for lunch and will employ 35-40 people on both a
full and part-time basis.

The Committee agreed to recommend that a/tl ass B.,T cense be created for
Stagger Lee'sif all administrative matters rye completed.
The staff now reports that all bonds and insurance forms are in order
and the Police Department reports no problem with the applicant.
1981 Tax Levy.,- Mrs. Peppler presented the figures for the 1981 Tax Levy
as outlined in the budget. It was explained that the levy needed to be
passed in May so that the library tax anticipation notes can be sold in
June. Some discussion was held about the assessed valuation.figures.
Mrs. Peppler pointed out that the resolution passed at the last,Board
Meeting which out -lined the arrangements that had been worked out with
the Library to insure that their levy would not exceed the $.23 which
was approved by referendum.
The Committee agreed to present this tax levy at the Board Meeting.
Trustee,Wattenberg asked that the Financial Report which was prepared
by Management Services be discussed at a Finance Committee Meeting.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:15.
