FEBRUARY 28, 1986
CALL TO ORDER
President Pairitz called the meeting to order at 8:00 AM
ROLL CALL
Present upon roll call: Lawrence A. Pairitz, President/Fire Chief
Richard L. Jesse, Treasurer/Comptroller
Del Ulreich, Firefighter
Alan Labbe, Firefighter
Carol A. Fields, Village Clerk/Secretary
Absent: Ron Olsen, Firefighter
Carolyn H. Krause, Mayor
George Cullens, Retired Firefighter
Village Attorney
REQUEST FOR REFUND
A request has been received from Firefighter/Paramedic Thomas Lynch for
a refund due to his resignation from the Fire Department.
Thomas Lynch was a member of the Fire Department since June 8, 1973 and
his resignation was be effective February 21, 1986.
Del Ulreich, seconded by Alan Labbe, moved to authorize the refund of
contributions to the Firemens Pension Fund made by Thomas Lynch, which
contributions totalled $20,957.81.
Upon roll call: Ayes: Jesse, Ulreich, Labbe, Fields, Pairitz
Nays: None
Motion carried.
APPLICATION FOR MEMBERSHIP
Daniel Focht had been offered a position with the Fire Department, and
in anticipation of the recruitment this matter was placed on the
agenda. Mr. Focht has declined employment with the Mount Prospect Fire
Department, therefore this item was passed over.

MEDICAL INSURANCE
It was stated that according to the latest actuarial report conducted
by A. H. Hansen, the Firemens Pension Fund is almost 200% funded. It
was proposed that the members contribution of 7-3/4% be placed in a
separate fund in order to pay the medical insurance for retired
firefighters.
Del Ulreich, seconded by Alan Labbe, moved to secure a legal opinion as
to whether a fund could be established from the contributions of the
firefighters to the Pension Fund in order to cover the medical costs
for retired firefighters.
Upon roll call: Ayes: Jesse, Ulreich, Labbe, Fields, Pairitz
Nays: None
Motion carried.
Del Ulreich was directed to secure this opinion from an attorney he
determined.
ADJOURNMENT
Alan Labbe, seconded by Del Ulreich, moved to adjourn this special
meeting.
Upon roll call: Ayes: Unanimous
Motion carried.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:15 AM.
