COMMITTEE REPORTS
Finance Committee - no report.
Medicaal Committee - No report.
OLD BUSINESS
The independent actuarial report was discussed, which once
again pointed out that the Mount Prospect Firemens' Pension
Fund is approximately 180% funded. It was also noted that
since the Fund is so well funded, the Village might not levy
any funds, or possibly abate the existing levy.
NEW BUSINESS
There was some discussion on the exempt rank pensions.
Ron Olsen noted that there are members of the Fund that pay
into the Fund contributions based on a certain salary such
as for firefighter/paramedic, however, there might come a
time when that member no longer performs the duty of a
paramedic, reducing his salary and contribution. When the
time comes for receiving retirement benefits that member
will receive a pension based on the salary received for the
year prior to retirement - not including those increased
contributions during the time his was a paramedic.
The annual Firefighters Association Seminar will be held
in Elmhurst during November. Ron Olsen expressed interest
in attending that seminar and the Treasurer was authorized
to pay the registration fee from the Fund.
ADJOURNMENT
Lt. Barra, seconded by Del Ulreich, moved to adjourn the
meeting.
Upon roll call: Ayes: Unanimous
Motion carried.
