ORDINANCE NO. 2233
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2221, ANNEXING PROPERTY AT THE WEST-
ERLY 'VILLAGE LIMITS, NORTH OF LAWRENCE LANE, AND SOUTH OF HAVEN STREET
WHEREAS, a written petition under oath signed by the owners of record of land
hereinafter described has been filed with the Village Clerk of the Village of
Mount Prospect requesting that land located at the westerly limits of the Vil-
lage of ?Jbunt Prospect, north of Iawrence Lane, and south of Haven Street to
be annexed to the Village of Mount Prospect; and
WHEREAS, all electors residing within the said property to be annexed have af-
fixed their signatures indicating their consent; and
WHEREAS, the said land is not within the corporate limits of any municipality,
but is contiguous to the Village of Mount Prospect; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect
intended to annex the said territory under Ordinance No. 2221 passed and ap-
proved February 3, 1970; and
WHEREAS, the legal description contained in SEeI'ION ONE of the said Ordinance
No. 2221 did not include all of the property intended to be annexed; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect
find and believe it to be in the best interests of the said Village that all
of the said land and territory be annexed thereto;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY 'mE PRESIDENI' AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:~'
SECTION ONE: That SECTION ONE of Ordinance No. 2221 passed and approved by the
President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect on February 3,
1970, be amended by eliminating from the legal description therein "and also
excepting therefrom the North 183 feet which lies East of the West 208 feet",
so that hereafter the entire said SECTION ONE of Ordinance No. 2221 shall be
and read as follows:
"SECTION ONE: That all land and territory legally described as
follows:
The Southwest 1/4 of the Northeast 1/4 of the Southwest 1/4
of Section 10, Township 41 North, Range 11, East of the Third
Principal Meridian, excepting therefrom the West 208 feet, in
Cook County, Illinois;
an accurate map of which territory is attached hereto and made a part
hereof by this reference, be and the same is hereby annexed to the
Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois."
SECTION TWO: The Village Clerk of the Village of Mount Prospect is hereby di-
rected to file in the office of the Recorder of Deeds of Cook County, Illinois,
a certified copy of this Ordinance together with an accurate map of the terri-
tory annexed.
SECTION THREE: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage, approval, and publicaticn in the marmer provided by law.
