III APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Commissioner Mitchell, Seconded by Tom Daley moved to
approve the Minutes of the regular Meet.inq of the
Safety Commission held February 1, 1988.
MOTION CARRIED
IV OLD BUSINESS
A) ' In February, Mrs. Sandra Schultz, 1208 Boxwood
Drive informed the Commission of her concern for the
safety of children crossing Wheeling Road to attend
Euclid school. At that time Commissioner Coy stated he
was not in favor of mid -block crossings and suggested
the crossing be relocated to an intersection. Since
then Mrs. Schultz has spoken with the school, the
crossing guard and her neighbors, and requests the
crossing be relocated to the intersection of Wheeling
and Boxwood Dr. along with existing parking restrictions.
-Safety Commission Minutes
March 7, 1988
Commissioner Beening, seconded by the Del Ulreich moved
to recommend relocating the crossing and parking
restrictions to the intersection of Wheeling Road and
Boxwood Drive.
MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY
Drew Johanson recommended if the Village Board concurs
with the Commissions recommendation the change not be
made until after the present school year. That would
give the Village time to complete the pavement striping
and the school can notify the parents and students.
The Commission and Mrs. Schultz concurred.
B) A request from Mr. Jagus, 121 N. Stratton Lane to
restrict parking adjacent to his home was reviewed.
Mr. Jagus explained when St. Emily's Church parking
lot is full, vehicles park on both sides of Henry St.
making it difficult to back out of his driveway.
Tom Daley, seconded by Commissioner Mitchell moved to
recommend the installation of no parking between signs
20 feet apart on Henry St. directly across from the
driveway located at 121 N. Stratton.
MOTION PASSED UNANIMOUSLY
V. ADJOURNMENT
Having no further business the Meeting was adjourned
at 8:30 P.M.
Respectfully submitted,
