MT. PROSPECT SAFETY COMMISSION
Minutes
February 4, 1980
The regular monthly meeting of the Mt. Prospect Safety Commission
was held in the Village Hall on February 4, 1980. Chairman Art
Coy called the meeting to order at 8 p.m. Members in attendance
were Andy Mitchell, Harold Abramowski, Village Engineer Ben
Hemmeter, Deputy Police Chief John Savage, and Police Officer
Robert Barone.
1. 100 Block of South Hatlen: After investigating the street
and the accident reports submitted by the Police and the Village's
existing ordinances that only head a speed limit restriction on
southbound Hatlen Avenue, a motion was made by Deputy Chief
Savage to change the Village ordinance on speed restrictions to
read 20 m.p.h. North and South Hatlen from Central to Lincoln
and also Audrey Lane North and Southbound 20 m.p.h. for the
entire jurisdiction, and for the proper signing of these streets.
The motion was seconded by Andy Mitchell and passed.
Due to the sharp bend in the 100 block of Hatlen where the
residents are having the problem with the cars running off the
road, Andy Mitchell made a recommendation that the Village have
installed a High Pressure Sodium Street Light on the west side
of Hatlen on the property line between 108 and 110 South Hatlen.
The motion was seconded by Deputy Chief Savage and passed.
One of the area residents who was at the previous meeting thought
these recommendations would considerably help their problem and
was very appreciative of the Commission's help and consideration.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 8:45 p.m.
