June 2, 1980
The regular monthly meeting of the Mt. Prospect Safety Commission was held in the
Village Hall on June 2, 1980. Chairman Art Coy called the meeting to order at
7:45 PM. Members in attendance were Andy Mitchell, Le Roy Beening and Deputy
Police Chief John Savage.
1) Stop sign request for the intersection of Crestwood and Martha Lane. After
reviewing the request of the residents for a stop sign due to the school children
crossing the intersection going to Forest View School a motion was made by
Andy Mitchell and seconded by Le Roy Beening that the Village pass the
ordinance and install a 3 -way stop sign at the subject intersection. The
motion passed.
2) Request for a "Curve" sign on the 900 block to South Elm Street. After reviewing
the curve the Commission feels that the signing is not required and they
recommended that the request be denied.
3) Request for a "No Parking Zone" in the alley behind the Medical Building at 601
West Central Road. The owner states that cars are parking there and blocking the possible
Fire Department's use of this alley to get to the Senior Citizens Condominums.
After reviewing the owners request the Commission would like more information
before making any decisions.
a) Request the Village Engineer to check and see if this alley is a
dedicated alley owned by the Village and report back to the Commission.
b) We request the Fire Department to invesigate this complaint and see
if it warrants "No Parking Fire Lane" for thier use and advise the
Commission
There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 9:00 PM
