III. Mike Pekala presented two items of new business for

A. Mike discussed the parking condition on the south side
of Prospect Avenue between Mount Prospect Road and a
point 560 feet west of Williams Street. Presently,
parking is allowed on the shoulder. Mike's survey
revealed that the cars are parked close to the edge
of the traveled roadway creating a hazard to traffic.
Further study revealed that there areadequate off-street
parking facilities for the residences along Prospect Avenue.
Based upon Mike's report, the Safety Commission agreed
with his recommendation to post "No Parking Any Time"
signs on the south side of Prospect Avenue along the
frontage described above.
B. Mike presented a traffic study of Russel and Isabella
Streets as requested by Trustee Floros. After reviewing
Mike's report, the Commission approved his recommendation
to include the existing 25 MPH speed limit sign on
Isabella Street between Main and Forest in the Mount
Prospect Traffic Code and to notify Commonwealth Edison
on the faulty street light.
The Commission decided to visit the intersection before
the next meeting and check operating speeds and sight
distance restrictions for possible further action.
