ORDINANCE NO. 2371
AN ORDINANCE VACATING THAYER AVENUE BETWEEN
KENILWORTH AVENUE AND WAVERLY PLACE AND AN
ADJOINING ALLEY
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of
Mount Prospect have signed an agreed order in order to preserve the best
interests of the Village of Mount Prospect and terminate Case No.69L16498
and
WHEREAS, by the terms of said order the Village Board of Trustees
have agreed to vacate Thayer Avenue between Kenilworth Avenue and Waverly
Place, and the alley heretofore existing between Kenilworth Avenue and
the above described area of" Thayer Av~nue to be vacated herein;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: That the following area of Thayer Avenue between
Kenilworth Avenue and Waverly Place, shall be and is hereby vacated,
to-wit:
All of Thayer Avenue which lies East of the East line of
Kenilworth Avenue and said line extended and lying West of
the West line of Waverly Place, said West line of Waverly
Place being the East line of Block 2 and said line extended
North in Centralwood, being a subdivision of'the following
described land: Beginning at the Southeast corner of the
West 1/2 of the Southeast 1/4 of Section 33, Township 42
North, Range 11 East of the Third Principal Meridian; thence
West along the South line of said Section 33 a distance of
14.82 chains, or 978.12 feet; thence North along a line
parallel to the East line of the West 1/2 of the Southeast 1/4
of said Section 33 to the Southerly line of of the right-of-
way of the Chicago and Northwestern Railway Company; thence
Southeasterly along the said right-of-way line to the East
line of the West 1/2 of the Southeast 1/4 of said Section 33;
thence South along last mentioned line to the place of be-
ginning, in Cook County, Illinois
SECTION TWO: That the following sixteen foot (16') alley
shall be and 1S hereby vacated, to-wit:
That 16.0 foot public alley lying Easterly of the East line
of Keni1worth Avenue, lying Northerly of the North line of
Thayer Avenue, lying Southwesterly of and adjoining Lots 1
through 13 and lying Northeasterly of and adjointing Lot 16,
all in Block 1 in Centra1wood, being a subdivision of the fol-
lowing described land: Beginning at the Southeast corner of
the West 1/2 of the Southeast 1/4 of Section 33, Township 42
North, Range 11 East of the Third Principal Meridian; thence
West along the South line of said Section 33 a distance of
14.82 chains, or 978.12 feet; thence North along a line parallel
to the East line of the West 1/2 of the Southeast 1/4 of said
Section 33 to the Southerly line of the right-of-way of the

.. SECTION THREE: That the Village Clerk of the Village of Mount
Prospect is hereby dire~ted to file in the Office of the Recorder of
Deeds of Cook County, Illinois, a copy of this Ordinance, together
with an accurate map of the territory vacated.
SECTION FOUR: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and
from and after its passage, approval, and publication in the
prescribed by law, and after the entry of the aforementioned
order by a Judge of the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois.
