AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY
TO THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT
(1200 SOUTH PRAIRIE AVENUE)
WHEREAS, Robert Schumacher and Rose Ann Schumacher (hereinafter the "Owners") are the legal
owners of record of all land within the territory hereinafter described (hereinafter the 'Territory"), and being all
the electors residing thereon; and
WHEREAS, the Owners have filed a petition with the Village Clerk of the Village of Mount Prospect,
Cook County, Illinois, requesting that the Territory be annexed to the Village of Mount Prospect (hereinafter the
"Petition of Annexation"); and
WHEREAS, the Territory, commonly known as 531 Douglas Avenue and legally described on the
Petition of Annexation, which is attached hereto and made a part hereof as Exhibit A, consists of less than 160
acres and is within the corporate limits of the Village of Arlington Heights but contiguous to the corporate limits
of the Village of Mount Prospect; and
WHEREAS, the Petition of Annexation was filed by the Owners pursuant to and in accordance with 65
ILCS 5/7-1-24 of the Illinois Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, the Owners have filed a petition to disconnect the Territory from the Village of Arlington
Heights and the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Arlington Heights have approved said
disconnection; and
WHEREAS, the disconnection from the Village of Arlington Heights will become effective upon the
approval of this Ordinance by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect, pursuant to
65 ILCS 5/7-1-24.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS, ACTING IN THE EXERCISE OF ITS HOME
RULE POWER, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1:
The Territory shall be annexed to the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois.
SECTION 2: A copy of this Ordinance, certified as correct by the Clerk of the Village of Mount Prospect, will be
recorded with the Recorder of Deeds of Cook County, Illinois, within ninety (90) days of the passage of this
Ordinance.
SECTION 3: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect, after passage, approval and publication as
required by law.
PASSED and APPROVED this 16th day of May, 2006, by a majority of the Corporate Authorities on a roll call
vote as follows:

of less than 160 acres hereby request to be annexed to the VILLAGE OF MOUNT
PROSPECT Illinois, to-wit:
The legal description is as follows:
The East half of the North. Half of the West Half of the Northeast Quarter of the
Southeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 10, Township 41 North
Range 11, East of the Third Principal Meridian, in Cook County, nlinois.
PIN # 08-10-114-072",DOOO with a common address 1200 S. Prairie Avenue.
A Petition to disconnect the subject property has been submitted to the Village of
Arlington Heights.
The subject property is presently within the Village of Arlington Heights on its
North property line and contiguous to the Village of Mount Prospect on the West, South
and East property lines of the subject property...
Petitioner further states that all Village of Arlington Heights taxes and assessments
due at the time of presenting this Petition are current and fully paid. 1bis Petition i~ filed
in compliance and through the authority granted within the provisions of Chapter 65
ILCS 5n-I-24.
