ORDINANCE NO. 5564
AN ORDINANCE DISCONNECTING CERTAIN PROPERTY
FROM THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT (531 DOUGLAS AVENUE)
WHEREAS, the North Star Trust Company, as Trustee under Trust No. 1500, dated 4/29/88, and
Larry McKone, having a beneficial interest in said trust (hereinafter the "Owner"), are the legal owners of
record of all land within the territory hereinafter described (hereinafter the 'Territory"), there being no
electors residing thereon; and
WHEREAS, the Owner has filed with the Village Clerk of the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook
County, Illinois, a Petition to Disconnect from the Village of Mount Prospect requesting that the Territory
be disconnected from the Village of Mount Prospect (hereinafter the "Petition to Disconnect"); and
WHEREAS, the Territory, commonly known as 531 Douglas Avenue and legally described on the
Petition to Disconnect, which is attached hereto and made a part hereof as Exhibit A, consists of less
than 160 acres and is within the corporate limits of the Village of Mount Prospect but contiguous to the
corporate limits of the Village of Arlington Heights; and
WHEREAS, the Petition to Disconnect was filed by the Owner pursuant to, and in accordance with, 65
ILCS 5/7-1-24 of the Illinois Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, the Owner has filed a petition to annex the Territory into the Village of Arlington
Heights, which will not become effective until the approval of this Ordinance by the President and Board
of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect pursuant to 65 ILCS 5/7-1-24.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS, ACTING IN THE EXERCISE OF
ITS HOME RULE POWER, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The Territory shall be disconnected from the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County,
Illinois, but only after the Territory has been annexed by the Village of Arlington Heights, Cook County,
Illinois.
SECTION 2: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval as
required by law.
PASSED and APPROVED this 16th day of May, 2006, by a majority of the Corporate Authorities on a roll
call vote as follows:

NORTH STAR TRUST COMPANY, as Trustee under Trust Number 1500 dated April 29,
1988, owner of record representing the entire tract of land having no electors residing on this
property, and representing the entire tract of land consists of less than 160 acres, requesting to be
disconnected to from the VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT Illinois, to-wit:
Lots 1,2 and 3 in Gettysburg-McKone Subdivision of part of the East one half (1/2) of the
South West Quarter (l/4) of Section 10, Township 41 North, Range 11, East of the Third
Principal Meridian, in Cook County, Illinois.
PIN # 08-10-301-019-0000 with a common address of 53 1 Douglas Ave~ Mount Prospect,
Illinois
Together with that portion of Douglas Avenue adjacent to Lots 1,2, & 3, which portion
together with the Fee Parcel is also described as follows:
West 208.0 feet of the South 200.0 feet of the Southwest Quarter (1/4) of the Northeast
Quarter (l/4) of the Southwest Quarter (1/4) of Section 10, Township 41 North, Range II East of
the Third Principal Meridian (excepting therefrom the South 33.0 feet of the West 33.0 thereof),
together with the North 167.0 feet of the South 200.0 feet of the East 33.0 feet of the Southeast
Quarter (1/4) of the Northwest Quarter (1/4) of the Southwest Quarter (l/4) of Section 10.
Township 41 North, Range 11 East of the Third Principal Meridian, in Cook County, Illinois.
The subject property is contiguous to the Village of Arlington Heights on its West, North and
South property lines and within the Village of Mount Prospect on the East property line of the
subject property.
Petitioner further states that all Village of Mount Prospect taxes and assessments due to the
time of presenting this Petition are current and fully paid. This Petition is filed in compliance and
through the authority granted within the provisions of Chapter 65 ILCS 5/7-1-24. Petitioners
have presented a Petition to Annex the subject property to the Village of Arlington Heights,
Illinois.
