ORDINANCE NO. 2516
AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING PROPERTY GENERALLY
LOCATED AT THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF ELMHURST
AVENUE AND KENSINGTON ROAD
WHEREAS, the land hereinafter described is both contiguous to the Village of Mount
Prospect and wholly bounded on all sides by the Village of Mount Prospect; and
WHEREAS, the said territory is not presently within the boundaries of any munici-
pality; and
WHEREAS, the said property comprises less than sixty (60) acres; and
WHEREAS, the Illinois Revised Statutes, Chapter 24, Section 7-1-13 provides for
the annexation of such territory by the Village upon passage of an Ordinance pur-
suant thereto; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect,
Cook County, Illinois, find and believe it to be in the best interests of the Village
of Mount Prospect that said land and territory be annexed thereto;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: That all land and territory legally described as follows, to-wit:
That part of the East Half of the Southwest Quarter of Section 27,
Township 42 North, Range 11 East of the Third Principal Meridian
described as follows: Commencing at the Southwest corner of the
East Half of the Southwest Quarter of said Section 27; thence East
along the South line of the Southwest Quarter of said Section 27 for
a distance of 558.61 feet; thence North on a line forming an angle
of 90 degrees, 40 minutes, 40 seconds as measured from West to
North, with the South line of the Southwest Quarter for a distance
of 333.03 feet; thence West along a line which is 333.0 feet North
of and parallel to the South line of the Southwest Quarter of said
Section 27 to its intersection with the West line of the East Half of
the Southwest Quarter of Section 27 aforesaid; thence South along
the West line of the East Half of the Southwest Quarter of Section 27
aforesaid 333.0 feet to the place of beginning (excepting therefrom
the South 33.0 feet thereof) all in Cook County, Illinois ,
which territory is not presently within the boundaries of any municipality but is in
the unincorporated territory of Cook County, is contiguous to the Village of Mount
pect, is wholly surrounded by the Village of Mount Prospect , and comprises 3.86
acres and is, therefore, less than sixty (60) acres in size; be and is hereby annexed
to the Village of Mount Prospect so that hereafter said territory shall be included
in the boundary lines and limits of the Village of Mount Prospect -- as is by law in s
such case made and provided.
SECTION TWO: That Map 23-N contained in SECTION ONE of Ordinance No. 2410,
passed and approved March 20, 1973, be amended to reflect the extention of the
corporate limits of the Village of Mount Prospect to include the property herein-
above described and hereby annexed.

SECTION THREE: That the Village Clerk of the Village of Mount Prospect is hereby !
directed to file in the Office of the Recorder of Deeds of Cook County, Illinois, a certil-
fled copy of this Ordinance, together with an accurate map of the territory annexed. i

SECTION FOUR: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after
its passage, approval, and publication in the manner provided by law.

Pursuant to the provisions of Section 7-1-1 of the
Illinois Municipal Code, as amended August 3, 1965, you,
and each of you, as Trustees of the Prospect Heights

the corporate authorities of the Village of Mount Prospect
will consider the annexation of certain property within
the corporate limits of the Prospect Heights Rural Fire
Protection District at a regular meeting of said corporate
authorities of the said Village in the Village Hall in
Mount Prospect, Illinois on July 2,1974 at 8:00 P. M., which
property is generally located at the northeast corner of
N. Elmhurst Road and W. Kensington Road, more particularly
described as:
That part of the East 1/2 of the Southwest 1/4 of Section
27, Township 42 North, Range 11 East of the Third Prin-
cipal Meridian described as follows: Commencing at the
Southwest corner of the East 1/2 of the Southwest 1/4 of

Southwest 1/4 of said Section 27 for a distance of 558.61

heard in connection with the aforesaid proposed annexation
