ORDINANCE NO. 2517
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE PURCHASE OF
VACANT REAL ESTATE LOCATED AT LINCOLN STREET
AND ELMHURST ROAD. MOUNT PROSPECT. ILLINOIS

WHEREAS. the Corporate Authorities of the Village of Mount Prospect have determined
that it is in the best interests of the Village of Mount Prospect to purchase real estate I
for the acquisition of the following described property in Mount Prospect, Cook Count!r,
Illinois: i

Lot 1 in Block 4 in Prospect Park Subdivision No. 1 of the West Half
of the North 60 rods of the Southwest Quarter of Section 12, Township
41 North, Range 11 East of the Third Principal Meridian. except that
part taken for Elmhurst Road in Cook County. Illinois.
which property is commonly known as: The triangle property at Lincoln Street and
Elmhurst Road, Mount Prospect. Illinois. and with approximate lot dimensions of
78.47x78.47x108.92; and

WHEREAS, the owners of said vacant real property have agreed to sell said property; I
and I

WHEREAS. the administration of the Village of Mount Prospect has entered into an es-,
crow agreement with the owners and Chicago Title and Trust Company; and ,

WHEREAS. the Village of Mount Prospect has placed in said escrow the amount of I
Four Thousand Dollars ($4,000.00) as the full purchase price to be paid for the afore-I
said property. and the owners of such property have placed the appropriate deeds in I
the said escrow; and 1
WHEREAS, such acquisition is authorized under the provisions of Section 11-61-3
of the Illinois Municipal Code of 1961. as amended;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: That it is hereby found, determined, and declared that it is useful,
advantageous and necessary to the public interests of the Village of Mount Prospect
and the residents thereof that the said Village of Mount Prospect acquire for public
use the following described property:
Lot 1 in Block 4 in Prospect Park Subdivision No. 1 of the
West Half of the North 60 rods of the Southwest Quarter of
Section 12, Township 41 North, Range 11, East of the Third
Principal Meridian, in Cook County. Illinois.
That the escrow contract regarding the purchase of said real estate
the Village of Mount Prospect, a municipal corporation, and EARL G.
and BERTHA E. IVERSEN. his wife. dated July 18, 1974, be and the same is
ratified and approved.

I SECTION THREE: That the act of the Village Attorney in executing said contract, as
I well as the act of the Village Treasurer in paying the said Four Thousand Dollars ,
I ($4,000.00) amount to the escrowee, be and the same are hereby ratified and approve~
I so that title to the subject property shall pass and be conveyed to the Village of Mount I
! Prospect. i

I SECTION FOUR: That Ordinance No. 617 passed and approved June 24, 1958, be and!
I the same is hereby repealed in its entirety. I

I SECTION FIVE: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after !
I,' its passage, approval, and publication in the manner provided by law. I
