ORDINANCE NO. 2649
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE TRAFFIC
CODE -- PARKING METER RATES
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE
OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: That subsections B and C of Section 18.1322 of the Municipal Code of
Mount Prospect of 1957, as amended, be and the same are hereby further amended in
their entireties so as to reflect the proper allocation of time per vehicle parking
at designated rates; so that hereafter the said subsections Band C of Section 18.
shall be and read as follows:
" B. In the Chicago and Northwestern Railway Lots #1, #2, and #3, estab-
lished as having a parking time limit of twelve (12) hours, the deposit
of certain coins shall establish the allowed parking time up to the maxi-
mum time limit as follows:
1. Upon the deposit of one (1) five cent (5ell) coin, a parking limit of
one- half (l) hour shall be established.
2. Upon the deposit of sufficient United States coins, except pennies,
amounting to ten cents (lOell), a parking limit of one (1) hour shall
be established.
3. Upon the deposit of sufficient United States coins, except pennies,
amounting to twenty cents (20ell), a parking limit of two (2) hours
shall be established.
4. Upon the deposit of sufficient United States coins, except pennies,
amounting to twenty-five cents (25ell), a parking limit of two and
one- half (n) hours shall be established.
5. Upon the deposit of sufficient United States coins, except pennies,
amounting to thirty cents (30ell), a parking limit of three (3) hours
shall be established:
6. Upon the deposit of sufficient United States coins, except pennies,
amounting to forty cents (40ell), a parking limit of four (4) hours
shall be established.
7. Upon the deposit of sufficient United States coins, except pennies,
amounting to fifty cents (50ell) , a parking limit of twelve (12) hours
shall be established.
C. In specific parking meter zones other than those catagorized in subsec-
tion B above, the costs and time limits shall be as follows:
1. In the Maple Street parking meter zones, established as having a
parking time of twelve (12) hours, the deposit of certain coins shall
establish the allowed parking time up to the maximum time limit as
follows:
a. Upon the deposit of one (1) five cent (5 ell) coin, a parking limit
of one-half (l) hour shall be established.
b. Upon the deposit of sufficient United States coins, except pen-
nies, amounting to ten cents (lOell), a parking limit of one (1)
hour shall be established.
c. Upon the deposit of sufficient United States coins, except pen-
nies, amounting to twenty cents (20ell), a parking limit of two
(2) hours shall be established.
d. Upon the deposit of sufficient United States coins, except pen-
nies, amounting to twenty-five cents (25ell), a parking limit of
two and one-half (2l) hours shall be established.
e. Upon the deposit of sufficient United States coins, except pen-
nies, amounting to thirty cents (30ell), a parking limit of three
(3) hours shall be established.
f. Upon the deposit of sufficient United States coins, except pen-
nies, amounting to forty cents (40ell), a parking limit of four
(4) hours shall be established.
g. Upon the deposit of sufficient United States coins, except pen-
nies, amounting to fifty cents (50~), a parking limit of twelve
(12) hours shall be established.
2. In the Village Hall, Court House, and Public Safety Building park-
ing meter zones, established as having a parking time limit of three
(3) hours, the deposit of certain coins shall establish the allowed
parking time up to the maximum time as follows:
a. Upon the deposit of one (1) five (5~) cent coin, a parking limit
of one-half (l) hour shall be established.
b. Upon the deposit of two (2) five (5ell) cent coins, or one (1) ten
(10ell) cent coin, a parking limit of one (1) hour shall be estab-
lished.
c. Upon the deposit of three (3) five (5~) cent coins, or one (1)
five (5e1l) cent coin and one (1) ten (10~) cent coin, a parking
limit of one and one-half (ll) hours shall be established.
d. Upon the deposit of sufficient United States coins, except pen-
nies, amounting to twenty (20~) cents, a parking limit of two
(2) hours shall be established.
e. Upon the deposit of sufficient United States coins, except pen-
nies, amounting to twenty-five (25e1l) cents, a parking limit of
two and one-half (2l) hours shall be established.

f. Upon the deposit of sufficient United States coins, except pen-
nies, amounting to thirty (30ell) cents, a parking limit of three
(3) hours shall be established. "
SECTION TWO: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after
its passage, approval, and publication in the manner provided by law.
