ORDINANCE NO. 5556
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 13, "ALCOHOLIC LIQUOR" OF THE
VILLAGE CODE TO PERMIT THE SERVICE OF CERTAIN ALCOHOLIC
BEVERAGES ON VILLAGE OWNED PROPERTY AT SPECIAL EVENTS
MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS
WHEREAS, from time to time the Village of Mount Prospect hosts or
sponsors special events, such as Sister Cities receptions, commemorative
receptions and receptions honoring citizens or groups providing special services
for the community. At such times, it may be appropriate to permit the service of
alcoholic liquor for those guests attending the event.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND
BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK
COUNTY, ILLINOIS ACTING IN THE EXERCISE OF THEIR HOME RULE
POWERS:
SECTION 1: Chapter 13 entitled "Alcoholic Liquor" of the Village of Mount
Prospect Village Code, as amended, is amended further by adding a new
subsection E to Section 13.107, Article I entitled "General Provisions", which
shall be read as follows:
E. Upon application to the Local Liquor Control Commissioner,
the Commissioner may grant written permission allowing the serving of
beer and wine as defined by the Village Code of Mount Prospect at Village
sponsored or Village hosted events on Village property. The
Commissioner may attach such conditions as are appropriate for such
service and shall report any such permits to the Village Board. All
regulations with respect to persons to whom service may be prohibited
shall be applicable.
SECTION 2: The current subsection E to Section 13.107 shall now
become subsection F.
SECTION 3: All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after
its passage, approval, and publication in pamphlet form in the manner provided
by law.
