MOUNT PROSPECT SPECIAL EVENTS COMMISSION
Minutes
Saturday, December 4, 1999
ATTENDANCE: Della Baldwin, Dale Draznin, Corky Dunn, Janice Farley, Leo Floros, Lil Floros,
Martha Helm, Linda Hoefert, Laury Youngquist
1. The meeting was called to order by Leo Floros. Minutes of the November 5, 1999 meeting were
approved.
2. Financial Report. Balance: $8,821.61
3. Holiday Decorating. The committee has received 21 nominations by mail. Everyone has made their
respective rounds and have made recommendations. The judges will make the final decision.
4. Sounds of the Season. The Field House at Lion's Park can not be used because of being rented out to
a karate competition. All will meet at the Lion's School gym to practice. A bus will be available to
transport anyone to the band shell. Practice is 1 :30-2:30 p.m. with the performance at 3:00. Ifnecessary
the bus will be available after the concert to take singers back to the Lion's School parking lot. A number
of the commission members have been assigned areas to direct people. Coffee, cocoa and cookies will be
served, compliments of the Mount Prospect National Bank.
5. Shining Stars. Laura reported that the committee will be meeting soon to make selections.
6. Celestial Celebration. Over 200 tickets have been sold. Table favor is a black piano music box. Paul
Seils is working on the centerpieces with a music theme.
7. Sister City. People from Sevres will be coming to Mount Prospect May 16-19,2000. The
commission will be working on the event with the Sister City Committee.
