Update on "Make A Difference Day"
The Chairman advised that the library has agreed to host a concert. Further, that the open
dates for the library were April 30th, May ih and May 14th. April 30th was selected as a primary
choice because it is before schools dismiss for the summer. The Chairman said he would
contact Commissioner Hernandez to see if that date was acceptable to the orchestra leader. A
motion was made by Commissioner Parikh for a concert date of April 30, 2006, at 2:00 p.m.,
with an alternate date of May 7th. This motion was seconded by Commissioner Fuller and
unanimously approved by voice vote.
Commissioner Parikh requested that the notification to the Lion's Club members and Baird and
Warner be undertaken. The Commissioner advised that Bill Gill is the new Manager at Baird
and Warner and Karen Dwyer will be the coordinator for "Make A Difference Day" for the Baird
and Warner office. It was suggested that a letter signed by the Mayor be sent to the Lion's Club
and Baird and Warner. The Chairman will contact the Mayor to determine how to go about
executing the letter and inviting other public officials. A discussion ensued regarding press
coverage, use of the library sign, use of the Village sign, the Village newsletter and cable TV. A
discussion of the program for the concert was under taken and a suggestion that the Mayor
open the concert. Further, that there is a Dailv Herald reporter who specializes in music and

allowed to speak. It was decided to leave this decision to the orchestra leader and
Commissioner Hernandez.

handouts were provided by Commissioner Fuller. Commissioner Parikh suggested their
proclamation be prepared for the Village Board. Further, that a calendar of proclamations be
developed so as to recognize upcoming events. There was also a short discussion of a
proclamation for past commission members. The Chairman advised he will discuss that
concept with the Mayor.
