The meeting was called to order at 5:35 p.m.
Ouinns' Visit
Rachel Toeppen reported on the Quinn's visit. She reviewed their schedule. Renee observed a
quilting demonstration, they toured Village Hall, Terry presented a program at the library, they
toured Prospect High School, Public Works, Lincoln Junior High, Police, Fire and Randhurst.
They attended the Thanksgiving in October Banquet.

Winter Festival Parade Report
Attached to minutes. The possibility of collecting donations was discussed but decided against.
High School Exchange
Making a donation to the high school to fund special activities while the group from Sevres is
visiting was discussed. John Korn and Paul Seils suggested that perhaps the Lions Club would
make a donation. Paul Seils offered to talk to the high school to determine what amount was
needed.
Report on Tinley Park Town Hall Meeting - "Citizen Diplomacy"
Dorothy and Judy attended a meeting held in Tinley Park. There wasn't much of a turn out so
they discussed Tinley Park's relationship with their Sister City. It was suggested that the
Commission review the policy for visits. Melanie Karsen suggested speaking with other
communities that have French sister cities to see what they do. In Tinley Park, the visitors pay
more of their own expenses. The visits are longer and more families are involved. They also
discussed the State Sister Cities Conference to be held April 28-30 in Springfield.

Commission members provided their email addresses to be included in the SCI newsletter email
list.
Report from Sevres
Mayor Wilks reported on an email she received from Mayor Kosciusko- Morizet regarding the
unrest in Paris.
French Salons
Dorothy suggested having a series of French Salon evenings to build up a group of supporters.
2006 Meeting Schedule
It was suggested that the commission move to a bi-monthly meeting schedule. It was decided this
would begin in January with a meeting on January 26.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:06 p.m.
