The meeting was called to order by President Lams at

In the absence of Clerk Milligan, Trustee Vicer was
appointed to serve as Acting Clerk.
On roll call the fol101t\Ting Trustees answered II PresentlY:
Airey, Schlaver, Viger, Weir and Wilson. Trustee Willer was
absent on roll call.
Trnstee vHller arrived and took his place at F:38.
A motion was made by Trustee Wilson, seconded by
Schlaver, that the tree trirrming be continued through the
month of September at the same hourly rate as previously
approved. The President put the question, the Acting Clerk
called the roll, with the follClnving response :/-lyes: All; Nays:
None. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried.
Trustee Wilson made a motion, seconded by Weir, that
the Village Attorney be authorized to prepare a street open-
ing ordinance. The President put thB question, the Ac~ing Clerk

none. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried.
A motion was made by Trustee Schlaver, seconded by
Weir, that the proposal of Milburn Brothers for $lP,554.97
for paving work on streets in Lonnquist Cardens, Hillcrest,
N. Wille & Gregory Streets, be accepted. The President put the
question, the Acting Clerk Called the roll, with the following
response: Ayes: Trustees Airey, Schlaver and Wilson: Nays:
Trustees Viger, Weir and Willer: There being a tie vote the
President voted: Nay. Thereupon the President declared the
motion defeated.

A motion was made by Trustee Weir, seconded by Viger,
to advertise for bids for I-II paving, with an alternate on
A-3 resurfacing, on the various streets in the Castle Heights
S1..lbdi vis ion, namely l'-Tille Street from T,1emory Lane to 65ft.
south of Gregory and Gregory Street from Main to Wille. All
bids due back at the regular meeting of the Board of Trustees,
September 20, 1955 at P:OOP.M. The President put the question,

A motion was made by Trustee Wilson, seconded by Viger,
that the plans and specifications for Sewers, Water Mains, and
Paving, in the Ellendale-East Subdivision, as submitted by
Consoer, Townsend and Associates, #55-11+-6, be approved. The

A motion was made by Trustee Wilson, seconded by
Willer, that the President and Clerk be authorized to sign the
llApplication for Sanitary District of Chicago Permit to Con-
struct a Sewer Connection or a Sewerage Systeml! in the Ellendale-
East Subdivision. The President put the question, the Acting Clerk
called the roll, with t he followinr response: Ayes: All; Nays:
None. Thereupon thB President declared the motion carried.
Trustee Schlaver then introduced Ordinance No. 457

seconded by Willer, that the ordinance be adopted. The President

A motion was made by ~rrustee Schlaver, seconded by
I.^Jiller, that the excess amount of' escrow money, in the amount
of $116.20, be refunded to the Alpha EnLineering ComrJany for
the sewer connection at West Central Road. The President put
the question, the Actinf' Clerk called the roll, with the
following response: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the
President declared the motion carried.
A letter from Consoer, Townsend & ASSOCiates, dated
AU2ust lC'th, was then introduced by Trustee Schlflver, recommend-
ing payment of 90% of an invoice i'rom Suburban Oil Company
for Serafine Subdivision Street Paving, and also recommend-
in[ that the remaining 10% be held until certain difficulties
and disturbancies had been clarified. Then Trustee Schlaver
made a motion, seconded by Wilson, that the Board concur

President put the question, the Acting Clerk called the roll,

A motion was made by Trustee Schlaver, seconded by Wilson,
that the sum of $4.01.76 be paid to the Suburban Oil Company for
Maple street Paving, Henry to Gregory Streets, in accordance with
recommendations from the Villa['e Encineers, outlined in their letter
dated j\Ufust 18, 1955. The President put the q;),estion, the Acting
Clerk called the roll, with the following response: Ayes: All; Nays:
None. ThBreupon the President declared the motion carried.
A motion was made by Trustee Schlaver, seconded by Weir, that
the sum of $94.00, be paid tothe School District #57: such sum being
one-tbird of the amount expended by School District ;r57 for an
assesmBnt survey. The President put the question, the Actin~ Clerk
called the roll , with the follmving respons e: Ayes: All; Nays: None.
Thereupon the President declared the motion carried.

that this petition be referred to the Aoning Commission for the
holding of a public hearing and their recommendations. The motion

has no objection to the rezoning in Case No. 1419. The motion
was voted on by acclamation whereupon the President declared

A motion was made by Trustee Willer, seconded by
Wilson, that the Village Attorney prepare an objection to the
Cook County Zoning Board of Appeals to the Rezoning of prop-
erties at Main street and Rand Road from its present class-
ification to that of B-2. The President put the qi).estion, the
Acting Clerk called the roll, with the following response:

We transmit herewith, two (2) sets of' plans and two (2) copies
of Addendum 1io. 1 to tb.e specifications covering the construction
of public improvements in the subject subdivision.

The plans and specifications have been revised to eliminate the
six (6) inch water main in Council Trail, in accordance vdth our
letter of August 16, 1955.
Our revised estimate of the construction cost of these improvements
is attached hereto.

Gentlemen:
Enclosed are two copies of a resolution form vJhich is
required by the state of Illinois, Department of Public ';Iorks and
Buildings, in Connection vdth the [ranting of a permit to install,
operate, and maintain six inch water mains in Central Road at Owen
and at William Sts. These water mains are to be installed to
serve the Park View '[I'Ianor Subdivision in accordance with the
plans previously approved by the Village, shall be a part of the
Village water distribution system thB State requires a resolution
by the VillaGe Board to assure responsibility.
The contractor installing these mains must present a copy
of the signed resolution before obtaining a permit from the state
for this construction. These mains shall provide service to the
school presently being constructed north of Henry st. and East of
Owen St. in addition to the Park View Nanor Shbdivision. In order
to assure that the school has water available for its fall open-
ing classes we request that this resolution form be presented
and acted upon at the August 23rd, meeting of the Village Board and
that a si['ned copy of the subject resolution be made available to
the contractor, Rossetti Contractihg Co., on Wednesday, August
24, 1955 so that the req~ired permit can be secured.

sprinkling be restricted between the hours of 7:00 A.M. and 9:00
P.'[I1. v-dth the provision,'.that sprinkling will be permitted at other
hours in accordance with the alternate day schedule. Fines will
be invoked for offenses in accordance VJith Ordinance #377. The

We have reviewed the revised plans prepared by DeSoto
HcCabe and Associates, providing for the relocation of the 8-
inch sanitary sewer from the .B::lmh':-rst Road::i[ht-of-\'Iay to the
back lot line of those lots fronting on .Elmhurst Road. liIe
recommend the Villa[e approve these plans s1.1bject to the comp-
letion of the following revisions:

portions of the proposed manholes would encroach on private

right-of-way for maintenance purposes and that the location

Gentlemen:
You will note from an examination of the attached file sent to
me yesterday by our Attorney, Mr. Alphonse Cerza, that his
letter addressed to you under date of Aucust 15 was due to the
kind of minor mishap that sometimes takes place in even a well
administered office like ours. On the other hand, I do not
think that this letter was impertinent, and could be construed
as a polite request for imformation.
I regret the inc ident, particv.larly in view of the fact that
collection letters are not supposed to leave this office, or
to leave our attorney's office, without my knowled["e and
consent as the Managing Partener of C T & A. This particular
matter slipped through without my seeing it and this is the
first incident of this kind that I can recall in all my years
