The meeting was called to order by President Lams at
8:30 P.M. and the Clerk was then directed to call the roll.

minutea of the meeting held March 6, 1956, a motion was made
by Trustee Schla ver, seconded by Airey.,. that the minutes be
approved as submitted by the clerk. The President put the
question, the Clerk called the roll, with the following respons
Ayes: All; Naya: None. Thereupon the President declared the
motion carried.

Airey, that the Treasurer's Report for period ending February 2
< 1956, be approved and placed on file. The Pre,sident put the

Cook County. The President put the question, the Clerk called

apply as seourity on the costs in this proceeding.

to Albert M. Sheppard, Master-in-Chancery.

by Trustee Willer, seconded by Airey, that this ordinance be
passed. The President put the question, the Clerk called the

upon the President declared the motion carried and said ordin-
ance passed and approved.
Trustee Willer then introduced and read Ordinance #481
entitled: "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS, 3 AND 4 OF AN
ORDINANCE ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE OF8'ICE OF
VILLAGE MANAGER AND DEFINING DUTIES AND POWERS". A motion was:

ance be passed. The President put the question, the Clerk call-

Trustee Willer then introduced and read Ordinance#48Z
entitled: ":AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTERS VI OF THE MOUNT PROSPECT
BUILDING CODE". A motion was then made by Trustee Willer,
seconded by Wier, that this ordinance be passed. The President
put the question, the Clerk called the roll, with the following
response: Ayes: All; Nays-: None. Thereupon the President declared
the motion carried and said ordinance passed and approved.
Trustee Willer then introduced and read Ordinance #483
entitled: "AN ORDINA}JCE FOR THE SALE AND ASSIGNMENT OF CERTAIN

A motion was made by Trustee Willer, seconded by Wier,
that the Village Attorney be authorized to prepare an ordinance
fixing fees to be charged for each electrical outlet installed
in a building, and these fees be payable as part of building
permit fee. The President put the question, the Clerk called
the roll, with the following response: Ayes: All; Nays: None.

Gentlemen:
We wish to advise you that we have reviewed the plans for
sewers to be constructed to serve the proposed Golfview Estates
Subdivision, prepared by E. N. Flectcher, insofar as they
effect the Village on~ount Prospect in Lonnquist Boulevard from
Na-Wa-Ta Avenue to the Western Village Limits.

The proposed subdivision is to be developed by Annen & Busse
and is to be located in the County immediately west of the
Western Village Limits and north of Lonnquist Boulevard.
Sanitary sewers will be constructed to serve this entire
subdivision and will be connected to the proposed 36 inch
combined sewer which is to be constructed by Schavilje
& Knuth, Inc., in Lonnquist Boulevard from Na-Wa-Ta Avenue
to Can-Do-Ta Avenue. Sewer construction in LonnQuist will
consist of 30 inch concrete pipe from Na-Wa-Ta Avenue
Westerly to W'e-Go Avenue. Sald sewer will have sufficient
capacity to accept storm and sanitary flow from a 40 acre
tract immediately west of and ,adjacent to the Sunset Heights
Subdivision. However, sanitary sewage only will be disposed
of inthls sewer from the proposed subdivision.

We wish to advise you that plans for the proposed sewer con-
struction.through the Village of Mount Prospect are satis-
factory and we recommend that permit for such construction

A motion was then made by Trustee Wilson, seconded by
Schlaver, to "concur in the recommendations of the Village
Engineers and that the President be authorized to sign the
permit application as presented. The President put the
question, the Clerk called the roll, with the following
response: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the President
declared the motion carried. '

Mr. Paul Johnson of Consoer, Townsend & Associates,
the~ discussed at some length the proposed ~stablishment
of a joint water comm:tssion to serve Park Ridge, Des Plaines,
Mount Prospect, Rolling Meadows, Arlington Heights and
Palatine.
A motion was then made by Trustee Viger, seconded by
Wier, to adopt a resolution entitled: tfRESOLUTION ON 'NATER
COMMISSIONtt. After some discussion the meeting was recessed
at 11:05 P..M. and reconvened at 11:25 P.M. " Trustee Viger
then requested, and Trustee Wier agreed, to withdraw the
motion at this time;on adoption of the resolution referred
to above~ and that bhe matter be brought up at the April 3rd
meeting of the Village Board.
A motion was made by Trustee Willer, seconded by
Schlaver, that the VFW and Lion's Club be permitted to use
the parking lot at the rear of the Municipal Building during
their respective carnivals provided_proper liability and
property damage insurmlce is taken out to protect the Village.
The motion was voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the
President declared the motion carried.
A motion was made by Trustee Airey, seconded by Viger,
to authorize the employment of an additional police officer
effective April 1st, 1956. The President put the question,
the Clerk called the roll, with the following response:

A motion was then made by Trustee Airey, seconded by
Wille~ to authorize the rental of a third squad car on the
existing terms from Lattof Motor Sales effective May 1st, 1956.

with the following response: Ayes: All;: Nays: None. There-
upon the President declared the motion carried.
A motion was made by Trustee Airey, seconded by Viger~
to authorize the purchase of radio equipment, flasher and
other appurtenances for the third squad car for a sum not
to exceed $700.00. - The President put the question, the
Clerk called the roll, with the following results: Ayes: All;
Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared the motion
carried.

that the Village Attorney be authorized to prepare an ordinance
making Busse Avenue a one-Way street, westbound from Main Street
to Northwest Highway. The President put the question, the
Clerk called the roll, with the following results: Ayes: All;
Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried.
A motion was made by Trustee Willer, seconded by Wier~
that. Trustee Wilson and the Village Attorney be authoriz:ed to
negotiate a. lease for Railroad property e4:tending from Water-
man Avenue to Mount Prospect Road,. except that area now under
lease,' for possible use as o:ff-street parking. The President
put the question, the Clerk called the roll, with the following
response: Ayes: A~l; Nays: None. Thereupon the President
declared the motion carried.

that the Village Attorney be authori~ed to represent ,the
Village at the Zoning hearings to be held in the Municipal
Building on March23rd, 1956~ The President put the question,
the Clerk called the roll, with the following response:

the motion carried. .
A motion was made by, Trustee Viger, seconded by Schlaver~
to authorize payment of '3,549.60 to S. B. Geiger & Co. for
additional work at Well No.5, du,e to extra cleaning of the
well after shooting with an additional 456 lbs. of nitro
glycerine. The President put the question, the Clerk called the
roll, with the :following response: A~es: All; Naya None.
Thereupon the President declared the motion carried.
A motion was made by Trustee Viger, seconded by Wilson~
to authorize the Village Attorney and Village Engineers to
appear on behalf of the "Village at hearing" Docket No. 43149,
be:fore the Illinois Commerce Commission regarding application
of Hatlen Heights Sewer & Water Company to construct and
operate a sewer and water company adjacent~to the Village,
said hearing to be held on Thilrsday, ApriJ:.1.2th, 1956 at
10:00 A.M. The President put the question, the Clerk called
the roll, with the following response: ~yes: All; Nays: None.
Thereupon the President declared the motion ca~ried.
A. motion was then made by Trustee Viger~ seconded by
Willer, to authorize the Partial Payment No. 4 on Contract
. No.3,. in the amount of $82,.242.00 to Chicago Bridge & Iron
Company as recommended by the Village Engineers. The President
put the question, the Clerk called the roll, with the ~ollowing
response: Ayes~ All; Nays: None. Thereupon the President de-
clared the motion carried.
A motion was made by Trustee Viger, seconded by Sahlaver,
to authoriz,e Partial Payment NQ. 6 on Contract No.2, 1954 Water
Works Improvement in the amount of $30,417.50 to John Erskine
Company as recommended by the Village Engineers. The President
put the question, the Clerk called the roll, with the following
response: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the President de-

Water Works Improvements in the amount of $4,272.30 to John
Erskine Company as recommended by the Village Engineers.
The President put the question" the Clerk called the roll",
with the following response: Ayes: All;: Nays: None. There-
upon the President declared the motion carried.
A motion was made by Trustee Willer, seconded by Airey",
that Village Clerk be authorized and directed to send the
following letter to the Plan Commission:

Chairman & Secretary of
Mount Prospect Plan Commission
The Village Board at its' meeting held on March 20, 1956
directed me to request that the Chairman & Secretary of the
Mount Prospect Plan Commission refrain from signing any plats
of subdivisions within a Ii mile radius of the Village of
Mount Prospect unless provision is also made on said plats
for approval by the Village Board as provided for in Village
Planning Ordinance.
Any plats prepared in accordance with the above
directions should be referred to the Judiciary Committe of
the Village Board.
The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon the
President declared the motion carried.
The following communication was then read:

Gentlemen:
In consideration of the fact that in order for the
Village of Mount Prospect to change its zoning ordinances
a public hearing must be held by the Mount Prospect aoning
Commission I hereby request that the Village Board cause a
hearing to be held on the following proposition:
That no building or structure be built any closer than
100 ft. from the center line of any U. S. Highway; 80 ft.
from the center line of any State Highway or 68 ft. from
the center line of any residential street.

A Motion was then made by Trustee Willer, seconded by
Viger, that this matter be referred to the Zoning Commission
for the holding of a public hearing. The motion was voted
upon by acclamation whereupon the President declared the
motion carried.

~We further recommend that the Village, after rendering its
approval of this sewer construction, if such be the case,
notify the Sanitary District of Chicago that such approval
has been rendered by the Village Board.

to authorize expenditure of $83.00 to alter the over-flow
pipe from the reservoir at No. 4 Well. The President put
the question, the Clerk called the roll, with the following
response: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the President

There being no further business to come before the
meeting a motion was made by Trustee Viger, seconded by
Airey,_ that the meeting be adjourned. The motion,was
voted upon by acclamation whereupon the President declared
the motion carried and the meeting regularly adjourned.
