the question and the Clerk Pro-Tem called the roll~
with the following response: Ayes: Trustees Airey, Norris,
Schlaver and Willer. Absent: TrusteesBroad and Casterline;
whereupon the President declared the motion carried.
Trustee Willer made reference to a Memorandum
dated February 10, 1958 from the Village Clerk, stating
that in order to properly publish notices for appeals
to the Board of Appeals it would be necessary for
petitions in complete form to be in the hands of the
Village Clerk before midnight on the 23rd day preceding
a scheduled hearing of the Board of Appeals.
Mr. James Bristol of 415 So. Albert Street made
a comment on the recommendation of the Board of Appeals
in connection with Case No. 58-1.
Mr. William Mac Sweeney of 407 So. Albert Street
stated that in connection with Case No. 58-1 that he
recognizes that the Public Service Company needs a
sub-station, but that he felt that it should be
enclosed in a building.
Mr. Howard Roper of 401 S. Al~er~ Street stated
that he was opposed to the granting of 'the petition
in Case No. 58-1.
There being no, further business to come before
the Board, it was moved by Trustee Airey and seconded
by Trustee Norris that the meeting be adjourned. The
Presiden t put the question and the vote was taken by
acclamation; whereupon the President declared the
motion carried and the meeting regularly adjourned at
9:15 P.M.

The meeting was called to order at 8:35 P.M. by
President Lams, who directed that the roll be called.
On roll call, the following Trustees answered
"Presentu: Airey, Broad, Norris" Schlaver and Willer.
Absent: Trustee Casterline.
It was moved by Trustee Airey and seconded by
Trustee Norris that Trustee Schlaver act as Clerk
Pro-Tern. The President put the question and the vote
was taken by acclamation; whereupon the President
declared the motion carried.
All Trustees having previously received copies
of the minutes of a meeting held on February 11, 1958,
a motion was made by Trustee Willer and seconded by
Trustee Norris that the minutes be approved as subrnt tted.

Trustee Willer read and explained proposed Ordinance
No. 597 AN ORDINANCE PERTAINING '1'0 'lIHE PLAS'I'ER WALLS
OF BUILDINGS AND ESTABLISHING A FIRE R~SISTANCE RATING
OF 1 HeaR. It was moved by Trustee Willer and seconded

by Trustee Broad that Ordinance No. 597 be passed. The46
President put the question and the Clerk Pro-Tern called
the roll, with the following response; Ayes: Trustees
Airey, Broad, Norris, Schlever and Willer. Nays: None.
Absent: Trustee Casterline; whereupon the President
declared the motion carried and Ordinance No. 597
passed and approved.
Trustee Willer reported that the Judiciary Committee
was not yet ready to report on the recommendation regarding
the findings of the Board of Appeals in regard to Case 58-1.
This case pertained to a request for a variation from the
Zoning Ordinance to permit the installation and operation of
an electrical distribution center on Lots 53, 54 and 55 in
Maplewood Heights Subdivision.

Trustee Willer discussed the advisability 0 f establishing
a 6 to 1 parking ratio in B-1 District zoning instead of the
4 to 1 parking ratio now required. It was moved by Trustee
Willer and seconded by Trustee Schlaver that the Village
Attorney be directed to either prepare an ordinance requirinl
6 to 1 parking ratio in B-1 Districts, or to advise the
Village Board as to reasons wb~ such an ordinance should not
be ppssed. The President put the question and the Clerk Pro.
Tern called the roll, with the following response: Ayes:
Trustees Airey, Broad, Norris, Schlaver and Willer. Nays:
None. Absent: Trustee Casterline; whereupon the President
declared the motion carried.

The Village Clerk arrived and took r~ s sea.t at 9 P.M.
Trustee Scblaver was relieved of his duties as Clerk Pro-Tem
and took his regular position on the Board of Trustees.
. The following motion was then made by 'I'rustee Airey and
seconded ~l Trustee Willer: Itthat the Village Engineers be
authorize!:,nd directed to prepare revised plans and specific~
tions and estimates of cost, including public benefit, for
sidewalk special assessment project, in accordance with
Consoer, Townsend & Associates project report 56-274; and th:
if for any reason the special assessment does not go through;
the Village agrees to reimburse said Engj,neers for such work
in an am01ll1t not to exceed ~~lOOO.OO.n 2.be President put the

Trustee Norris read a po~tion of the Street Department
report for the month of January, 1958, in wbich he stated th~
the major activity and almost the exclusive activity of the
month was plowing end hauling snow 8.nd spreeding some 13
Tons of salt.
Trustee Norris also referred to a report prepared by the
Village Manager on the widening of Central Road. He stated
that Commissioner Fulle had reported a conversation with Mr.
Plummer that the plan is now for a 40 ft. roadway on a 100
ft. right -of-way scheduled for thi s suramer. Mr. Plu.mmer is 1
send the Board a confirming letter.

The Joe B. DiVj_to Company has recentl~y completed the
installation of a 6 inch diameter water main in Thayer
Street between Elm Street and Maple Street for Serafine
Builders, Inc. This completes all work in co~~ection
irJi th the above referenced project. 1.rJe had 1rJi thheld
reco~mending approval of improvements in t~ls subdivision
pending completion of this 'Hater mej_n, Hhich was a
subject of discussion for a considerable period of time.
The surfacing of streets in this subdivision, which
ordinarily completes a project of this type, was
completed in Hay of 19.55. At that time all improve-
ments were satisfnctory, except the above described
water main, wbicb has taken until recently to be
installed.
All improvements, i.e.sewers, water mains, paving
and sideHalk, have nmJ be'en installed in accordance
with the approved plans and specificatinns and we
recommend that they be accepted by the Village.
