the police department in resolving an overnight parking problem on Greenwood Drive.
Additionally, she expressed a concern regarding property upkeep in the Boxwood area.
Village Manager Michael J anonis stated that the area had been improving due to the
cooperation of homeowner groups. Further, that the Community Development
Department conducts periodic inspections of the properties to ensure that they are in
compliance with Village ordinances.
Walter Noheltv. 40 E. Northwest Hil!hwav
Mr. Nohelty requested a "Do Not Block Driveway" sign for the exits of the Lofts on to
Emerson. He stated that recent street improvements had made exiting the lot easier, but
periodically the exit was still blocked by traffic on Emerson. He inquired as to parking
enforcement in the lot behind the Lofts and on Northwest Highway, and further requested
the status of overnight guest parking. He was advised by Village Manager Janonis that
the parking issues were under review because of the transfer of the parking lot to the
Lofts from the Village. His request for the "Do Not Block Driveway" will be forwarded
to Engineering.

Additionally, Mr. Nohelty brought to the attention of Coffee with Council that Channel
17 and Channel 15 periodically experienced a crossover problem. Channel 15 shows
were being simultaneously broadcast on Channel 17 thus preempting the broadcast of
Village commission and board meetings. He complimented Howard Kleinstein on his
prompt responses, but was concerned that the problem would continue.
Carol Tortorello. 223 S. Elmhurst Avenue
Carol Tortorello wanted to verify that the special service area #5 will terminate in 2017.
She inquired as to the status of a five dollar sewer surcharge. Trustee Skowron
responded that this concept was under discussion and no final decision had been made,
and a decision would only be reached after a thorough discussion by the Village Board.
Carol Tortorello then mentioned that Cruise Night would be requesting an extension
through the end of September. At that point, a group discussion ensued regarding the
food vendors accommodating Cruise Night attendees. It was pointed out by Dave Crane
that Cruise Night attendees did not want to stray far from their automobiles because of
the major investment they had made in their cars.
Katherine McGeehan & Dave Crane. 104 N. Elmhurst Avenue
Katherine McGeehan & Dave Crane have been the focal point of complaints made by
neighbors over a period of years at Coffee with Council. They came to express their
concern and explain their side of the story. There was an exchange of ideas with the
Board members on how to establish more amicable relations with the neighbors.
Lee Williams. 70 North Albert
Lee Williams had come to Coffee with Council to express his appreciation for a prompt
roof inspection. He related that the neighbors, although somewhat upset initially at the
roof inspection, were now calmer and accepted the necessity of the roof inspection being
completed.
David & Joan Poznanski. 1803 Burnine Bush
David and Joan Poznanski wanted to bring to the attention of the Village a speeding auto
complaint in their section of Burning Bush.
In response to their complaint, Officer Maureen Kerrigan was dispatched later that day
to gather the specific information regarding speeding autos so as to tailor a police
response.
Additionally, the Poznanski's expressed concern about the number of low flying aircraft.
Ms. Urban commented that since 9/11 certain flight paths have been changed which may
force the aircraft lower. The Poznanski's were especially concerned about the private jets
that utilize Palwaukee Airport. The Village Manager committed to following up with the
FAA to determine if flight patterns had been changed.
Katv Moran. 1403 S. Redwood Drive
Katy Moran wanted to express concern about the DiMucci properties being sold off to
multiple landlords, especially along Cottonwood Street. She was concerned that
DiMucci had undertaken the sale of the property in a manner so as not to call attention to
their intended sales. The Village Manager assured Katy Moran that DiMucci had been in
contact with the Village to advise them of their intent to sell several properties and that
ongoing discussions were in progress regarding the need for homeowners associations for
these properties.
With no further business to come before the assembled group, Mayor Wilks adjourned
the meeting at 10:55 a.m.
Respectfully submitted,
~
Richard Eddington
Chief of Police
