ORDINANCE NO. 2852
AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING PHOPERTY COMMONLY KNOWN AS
LAKE BRIARWOOD TO THE VILL~GE OF !,I[OUNT PROSi:>ECT
WHEREAS, the land hereinaft(~r desc:ribed is both contiguous to the Village of lYIoun
Prospect and wholly bounded on all sides by the Village of IVlount Prospect and the
Village of Arlington Heights; and
WHEREAS. the said territory is not presently within the boundaries of any munici--
p~~;~ I
WHEREAS, the said property comprises less than sixty (60) acres; and
WHEREAS, the Illinois Revised Statutes, Chapter 24. Section 7-1-13 provides for
. the annexation of such territory by the Village upon passage of an Ordinance pur-
suant thereto; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect,
Cook County. Illinois, find and believe it to be in the best interests of the Village
of Mount Prospect that said land and territory be annexed thereto;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTE. S
OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: That aHland and territory legally deseribed as foll.:.wlS, to-wi.t:
All that part of Lake Briarwood a subdivision of part of the 'West half
of the East half of Section 22. Township 41 No~.th. Range 11. East of
the Third Principal Meridian and all that part of Lake Briarwood Unit
Number Two a subdivision of part of the West half of the East half of
Section 22. Township 41 North, Range 11. East of the Third Principal
Meridian all bounded by a line described as commencing at the North-
east corner of the West haUof the East half of Section 22 aforesaid;
thence South along the East line of the W' est half of the East half of
Section 22 aforesaid to a point of intersection with a line which is the
Northwesterly line of the Southeasterly 70 feet of Lots 19 and 20 as
measured at right angles to the Southeasterly lines thereof in Lake
Briarwood aforesaid; thence Southwesterly along the Northwesterly
line of the Southeasterly 70 feet of Lots 19 and 20 as measured at rig'ht
angles to the Southeasterly lines thereof aforesaid and along" the
extension of the aforesaid line Southwesterly to the Northeasterly line
of Lot 10 in Lake Briarwood aforesaid; thence Southeasterly along the
Easterly line of Lot 10 aforesaid to the intersection with a line described
as the Northwesterly line of the Southeasterly 90.0 feet of Lots 9 and 10
as measured at right angles to the Southeasterly lines thereof; thenee
Southwesterly along the line which is described as the Northwesterly
line of the Southeasterly 90.0 feet of Lots 9 and 10 as measured at right
angles to the Southeasterly lines thereof to the Westerly line of Lot 9
aforesaid; thence Northeasterly along the Westerly line of Lot 9 afore-
said to the Northwesterly corner of Lot 9 in Lake Briarwood aforesaid;
thence Northwesterly to the Southwesterly corner of Lot 25 in IJake
Briarwood aforesaid; also being the Southeasterly corner of Lot 44 in
Lake Briarwood Unit Number Two aforesaid; thence in a Westerly and

41, 40, 39, 38. 37, 36. 35, and 34 in Lake Briarwood Unit Number Two
aforesaid to a point on the Southwesterly line of Lot 34 which is the
intersection with the Northvle3t~rly line of Lot 57 in Lake Briarwood Unit
Number Two extended Northeasterly to the Southwesterly l.ine of Lot 34
aforesaid; thence Southwesterly along the extension Northeasterly of the

all in Cook County, Illinois.
which territory is not presently within the boundaries of any municipality but is i .
the unincorporated territory of Cook County. is contiguous to the Village of Mount
Prospect, is wholly sourrounded by both the Village of Mount Prospect and the
Village of Arlington Heights. and comprises 49.01 acres and is. therefore, less
than (60) acres in size; be and is hereby annexed to the Village of Mount Prospect
so that hereafter said territory shall be in~luded within the boundary lines and lirn ts
of the Village of Mount Prospect--as is by law in such case made and provided.
SECTION TWO: That Map 37-S contained in SECTION ONE of Ordinance No. 2410 f
passed and approved March 20. 1973, be amended to reflect the extension of the
corporate limits of the Village of Mount Prospect to include the property herein-
above described and hereby annexed.
SECTION THREE.: That the Village Clerk of the Village of Mount Prospect is hereb
directed to file in the Office of the Recorder of Deeds of Cook County. Illinois, a ce ti
fied copy of this Ordinance. together with an accurate map of the territory annexe .
SECTION FOUR.: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and afte
its passage,. approval, and publication in the manner provided by law.
