CHANGE OF OWNERSHIP
JNK RESTAURANT, INC. d/b/a MICHAEL'S RESTAURANT,
113 South Emerson Street
SUBJECT:
. On Monday, May 9, the Village Manager met with applicant John Katsinis regarding
Mr. Katsinis' request to assume the existing Class S Liquor License now in place for
Michael's Italian Steaks and Seafood, 113 South Emerson Street. The Class S License
provides for the service of alcohol in conjunction with a restaurant/lounge operation.
Mr. Katsinis would purchase the business and operate it under the ownership of JNK
Restaurant, Inc.
According to Mr. Katsinis, the restaurant would continue to operate under the Michaels'
name. Décor, menu and staff would remain unchanged. Mr. Katsinis has extensive
experience in the restaurant business dating back to the early 1980s. In the past, he
has held positions including cook, bartender, and manager with his most recent
employment being the Manager of a Boston Blackies in Glencoe. Mr. Katsinis is Basset
trained and presented a certificate evidencing that fact. Mr. Katsinis and his wife intend
to make this venture their full-time endeavor and will be on the site as the management
team. .
The Village Manager discussed at length with Mr. Katsinis the Village's particular
sensitivity to the sale of alcohol to minors as well as over service to intoxicated persons.
The Manager also discussed the Village Fight Ordinance requirements. Mr. Katsinis
indicated he understood the requirements of the Village and would ensure that all those
employed at the establishment were aware of same. The petitioner has submitted an
application along with fees and most documentation along with the required background
check.
Should the Village Board consider the request favorably, a Motion to approve the
change of ownership would be in order. Assuming approval, the License would be
