RESOLUTION NO.
30-82
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE FISCAL YEAR 1982 COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT ENTITLEMENT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect is entering its fifth year as an
entitlement community under the federal Community Development Block Grant
Program; and
WHEREAS, in the past four years the Village has used its Community
Development Block Grant entitlement to implement various projects to
address the community development and housing needs of its low and moderate
income and elderly residents, to reduce and prevent the occurrence of
deterioration in the Central Area of the Village, to increase accessibility
for the handicapped, and to address other community needs in conformance
with the objectives of the Community Development Block Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect has been allcated $328,726.00 for
fiscal year 1982 from the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development;
and
WHEREAS, The Mayor and Board of Trustees at its regular meeting of
February 17, 1981 approved an application for entitlement funds in the
amount of $382,000.00 for the 1981 fiscal year; which application was then
submitted to and approved by the D. S. Department of Housing and Urban
Development; and which funds were then made available to the Village of
Mount Prospect on July 1, 1981; and
WHEREAS, The Mayor and Board of Trustees has determined that these funds
can continue to be of benefit in providing for the health, safety and
welfare and meeting the community development and housing needs of its
citizens:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: The Mayor and Board of Trustees of the
Prospect hereby approves the allocation of Community
Grant funds to projects in the following amounts for
of $328,726.00:
Village of Mount
Development Block

Multi-family Rehabilitation
Residential Rehabilitation
Open Space Acquisition
Commonwealth Edison Development
Senior Center Windows
Downtown Improvements
Contingency
Low-Moderate Income Referral Service
General Administration

* An additional $85;000 will be reprogrammed from Housing Site Acquisition
to Multi-family Rehabilitation.
SECTION TWO: The Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount
Prospect hereby authorizes the Village Manager to prepare and forward to
the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development a submission of
Mount Prospect's "Final Statement of Community Development Objectives and

Projected Use of Funds" in accordance with federal guidelines.
SECTION THREE: This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage and approval in the manner provided by law.
