AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A CONDITIONAL
USE FOR A SPORTS TRAINING FACILITY FOR THE PROPERTY
LOCATED AT 3017-3035 MALMO DRIVE, MOUNT PROSPECT,
ILLINOIS
WHEREAS, the petitioner, Rise Up Academy, is seeking a conditional use to expand
an existing non -conforming gymnastic school located at 3017-3035 Malmo Drive and
legally described as:
LOT 1, EXCEPT THE NORTH 115.37 FEET THEREOF, IN ELMHURST-ALGONQUIN
INDUSTRIAL PARK UNIT NO.1, BEING A RESUBDIVISION OF PART OF LOT
3 IN LINNEMAN'S DIVISION IN SECTION 23, TOWNSHIP 41 NORTH, RANGE
11, EAST OF THE THIRD PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN
PIN: 08-23-202-034-0000; and
WHEREAS, a Public Hearing was held on the request for a Conditional Use being the
subject of PZ -28-19 before the Planning and Zoning Commission of the Village of
Mount Prospect on the 9th day of January, 2020 pursuant to proper legal notice
having been published in the Daily Herald News a er on December 25, 2019; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect have
given consideration to the request herein and have determined that the request
meets the standards of the Village and that the granting of the Conditional Use to
allow a gymnastics training facility would be in the best interest of the Village.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS
ACTING IN THE EXERCISE OF THEIR HOME RULE POWERS:
SECTION ONE: That the recitals set forth hereinabove are incorporated herein as
findings of fact by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount
Prospect.
SECTION TWO: The Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect
grant a Conditional Use permit to allow for a gymnastics training facility located at
3017-3035 Malmo Drive, Mount Prospect subject to the following conditions:
t, "Submittal of architectural plans, including a building code analysis
reflecting existing and proposed conditions. All egress, uses, types of
construction, occupant load, and any necessary changes due to the change
in use group per the International Building Code;
2. Provide two (2) additional accessible parking spaces measuring a minimum
of 16' wide, including an 8' wide diagonally striped access aisle, by 18' deep,
and equip them with the required U.S. Department of Transportation signs;
and

3. Compliance with all Development, Fire, Building, and other Village codes
and regulations."
SECTION THREE: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage, approval and publication in pamphlet form in the manner provided by law.
