Information
On Thursday, August 8, 2019, Village Manager, Community Development Director and Executivei the
Village r met with Joe Buonavolanto III of Buona, regarding a request for the creation of a new Class F-2
liquor license at their newly constructed Rand Road location. The Class - License provides for service of beer and
wine at dining tablesonly.
This upscale, fast casual restaur is famous for their award-winning ®® n " Italian Beef sandwiches r
friendly-family feel. The company was founded in 1981 with Joe Buonavolanto Sr. opening the first restaurant location
in Berwyn,, Illinois and has since expanded into catering n rcri . The Mount Prospect restaurant will be its
location.
The total building square footage is 4,080 square feet, with an estimated 27 tables inside and an outdoor patio,
for total indoor/outdoor seating capacity of 120. The Rand Road location will feature a double lane drive thru and will
employ approximately 80 staff members. The restaurant will be open seven days a week . . to 11:00 .
serving lunch and dinner. Anearly November 2019 openingis anticipated.
Discussed with Mr. Buonavolanto wereill particular sensitivity to the sale Icohol to minors along with the
ill 's No-Fight licy. Mr. Buonavolanto stated less than 1% of total sales is attributedo alcohol.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 13 OF THE
VILLAGE CODE OF MOUNT PROSPECT
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT
PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS ACTING IN THE EXERCISE OF THEIR HOME RULE POWERS:
SECTION ONE: That in accordance with Subsection A of Section 13.108 of Chapter 13 of the Village Code
of Mount Prospect, as amended, the Corporate Authorities shall determine the number of Liquor Licenses
available in each Classification and shall establish a list specifying the number of Liquor Licenses
authorized. Said list is hereby amended increasing the number of Class "F-2" Liquor Licenses by One
(1) BUONA BEEF LLC D/B/A BUONA located at 861 E. RAND ROAD Said list is as follows:
Five (5) Class P-1 License
Ten (10) Class P-2 License
One (1) Class P-3 License
Zero (0) Class P-4 License
