Information
At the July 16, 2019 Village Board meeting, a contract for construction of the Edwin and Elsie Meyn Busse Park was
awarded to Clauss Brothers of Chicago, Illinois. In order to realize cost savings from existing joint purchasing
agreements, the pavilion canopy and site furniture was omitted from the Clauss Brothers' award; the Village would
receive better pricing on these items as opposed to a private contractor. Essentially, the Village is purchasing these
items and providing them to Clauss Brothers for installation.
At the August 7, 2019 meeting, the Village Board accepted joint purchasing bid results for the procurement of site
furniture $21,688.27. With the purchase of the pavilion canopy, the project purchasing for the park will be complete.
This proposed pavilion canopy is available for procurement through the Sourcewell (formerly National Joint Powers
Alliance) joint purchasing contract. Procurement of commodities through Sourcewell satisfies the Village's purchasing
policy requirements.
Attached for reference is a copy of the contract plan sheet depicting the pavilion.
The Sourcewell vendor for park shade structures is Poligon by PorterCorp of Holland, Michigan. A price quotation for
the specified pavilion is attached. The quotation was prepared by Poligon by PorterCorp's local distributor, Reese
Recreation Products, Incorporated of Prospect Heights, Illinois. Supplemental information about Poligon by
PorterCorp can viewed on the firm's website: https://www.pgrtercorp.com/poligon/.
