These geographically disparate facilities are monitored and controlled using a Supervisory Control And Data
Acquisition (SCADA) system. SCADA is a system of industrial computer software,, hardware., communications devices,
sensors, human/machine interfaces, reports, and alarm protocols that are utilized to perform essential water and
sewer system operations such as initiate pumps or close fill valves.
Sustained, secure, and effective operation of this system requires routine,, proactive maintenance, software and
firmware updates, hardware replacements or repairs,, system diagnostics,, programming, report writing., and
integration of new or replaced equipment and sensors. To perform this work, staff requires assistance from a qualified
data integration and industrial computer maintenance contractor.
