The Village inventory also includes light -emitting diode (LED) (9),, halogen (13), and meta' halide (17) luminaries. Most ComEd lights are currently powered by high-pressure sodium lamps. Most of these luminaires are not energy efficient. Consequently, substantial cost savings could be realized by retrofitting these •' with energy efficient fixtures such as light -emitting •'•• (LED) lamps. Cost savings are garnered from reduced electrical consumption, less maintenance, and longer equipment life. ComEd plans to include the Village of Mount Prospect in its Smart Lighting Program. This program will incorporate the planned retrofitting of all ComEd high-pressure sodium and mercury vapor lights with energy-efficient LED luminaires. There will be no cost to the Village for these improvements.
