PETITION TO THE MT. PROSPECT VILLAGE
PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Mt. Prospect Village Board Meeting of January 19, 1999
As our duly elected representatives we the home owners of South Pine Street in Mt.
Prospect petition the Mt. Prospect Village President and Board of Directors to not authorize the
purchase of the land commonly known as 115 South Pine Street, Mt. Prospect, Illinois for the
following reasons:
We the home owners of South Pine St. want the family atmosphere retained
The block is comprised of 12 single family homes. Many of us have made substantial
improvements to our residences with the intent of making South Pine our family
residence for the next 20 years or more, as a place where our children can play safely
together outside, without the threat of undue pedestrian or motor vehicle traffic.
We the home owners of South Pine St. want the value of our homes maintained
The substantial improvements made to our homes were with the vision that the value of
our homes would improve and would be marketable in the distant future. Village land
developmem, whether commercial or multi-family would decrease the value of our
homes.
We the home owners of South Pine St. do not want additional water drainage
Many of our homes currently experience recurring flooding caused by water drainage of
surrounding surfaces. Village land development whether commercial or multi-family
would increase the amount of water drainage and therefore increase the level of flooding
that currently occurs.
We the homeowners of South Pine St. are united in these above stated and respectfully, request
our elected representatives to be vigilant of our wants and needs and not authorize the purchase
of the land commonly known 115 South Pine.
