Call to Order 9:08 a.m.
Attendance Teresa VanOpDorp, Brian Lambel, Jill Friedrichs, Tarina Wimmer, Paul Seils,
Maura Drews, Sandy DiCaro and Vicki Busse
Absent Kate Kelly, Christina Greco, Lizzet Stone Witkowski, Haley Schechter Winkler and
Fred Steinmiller
Guests Mike Cassady, Village Manager
Citizens to be Heard None
Secretary's Report Motion to approve minutes of June 2, 2018 made by Paul Seils,
seconded by Tarina Wimmer. No discussion. Motion approved unanimously.
Finances Review
*Financial Statement still not correct. No vote was taken to accept.
Christkindlmarket
*Applications have been sent out to both past participants and potential new vendors.
*Hope to have 20ish participants.
*Event is Wednesday, November 21st from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. SEC members be there at 4:00.
*Vendors will begin arriving at 3:00 and have proven in past to be self-sufficient.
House Decorating
*Areas to be distributed at the November meeting.
Shining Star Gala
*Nominations should go up on the VoMP website soon.
*2019-2020 nominee category should include a specific award for"Teacher'.
*Saturday, February 2, 2019 is the date for this years event at Cotillion Banquets.
*Decorating Committee: Tarina, Paul, Maura and Sandy.
*Color scheme: Silver, gold, burgundy and cream.
*Discussion held with Mr. Cassady about hosting the event outside the VoMP. Reasons were
given by SEC members why different facilities in Mount Prospect are not able to hold
event.
*Overwhelming response to bring back Orchestra 33. Need $11,000 in sponsorships to cover
expenses.
*Never received 2018 sponsorship check from Bosch for$2,500. SEC met publicity obligation.
*Rent chairs and table runners. Check out www.efavormart.com for runner selection.
*Contract with Cathy at Celebrating Life Events for set-up and take-down.
*Check with Cathy, Celebrating Life Events regarding table runners.
*Ask Cindy Adams, Nothing Bundt Cake if she would once again sponsor/donate product.
*Sponsorship Committee: Fred, Maura, Brian and Sandy. Get list of businesses from VoMP.
New Year's Eve Eve (NYEE)
*Sunday, December 30, 2018
*Possible venue: Red Barn Restaurant and Brewery
*$12 ticket price last year. This year should be raised to $15.
*Liz Stone to check with dance company that was used last year. Are they available this year with
dancers?
