I. CALL TO ORDER Co-chair Murphy called meeting to order at 3:10 p.m.
II. ROLL CALL
Present: Alexander Bertolucci, Gerald "Skip" Farley, Janice Farley Leo Floros, Jean
Murphy, Michaele Skowron, Christy Watychowicz
Members Absent: Sharon Anderson, Dale Henricksen, Linda Hoefert, Patrick Mogge,

III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Floros moved to approve the April 5, 2017 Meeting Minutes.
Skip Farley seconded. Motion passed.

IV. OLD BUSINESS
A. Report: Website update - Lindsay Rice See attached report from Rice.
B. Report: Sponsorships update—Skip Farley, Leo Floros, Christy Watychowicz
Skip Farley continues to pursue potential sponsorships.
C. Report: Education update— Patrick Mogge, John Zulaski
Veterans asked that the education committee send notice of the Mon, May 29
Memorial Parade to the education contacts list. Lincoln Middle School will participate.
D. Report: Fourth of July parade — D214 band? — Patrick Mogge One more high
school will participate.
E. Report: Second round hydrant painting event— Christy Watychowicz Round
Two has closed. 78 fire hydrants were requested. Round One had 70 applications.
MP Public Works will prime hydrants this month.
F. Report: Centennial Arbor Day celebration review—Sean Dorsey
Good weather. St. Paul elementary school & St. Raymond elementary school
students participated. MP Garden Club participated.
G. Report: Embracing our Differences events —John Zulaski, Alex Bertolucci
MP Library Opera event was well attended in April.
H. Report: Month of family fun events — Sharon Anderson MP Village will send a
postcard to highlight July Family Fun Events.
I. Report: July event for Commissions —Mayor Arlene Juracek MP Village Band
will perform a centennial concert on Mon, July 17, 2017 at Lions Park Band Shell. It
will include a tent picnic for boards and commissions. Details to follow.
J. Report: Founding family memorials and time capsule burial plans — Mayor
Arlene Juracek The signs are still being edited. The signs will be unveiled at
Octoberfest. Dorsey will install footings this summer 2017. Emerson Street side of
Village Hall will be the site.
K. Report: Upcoming events:
MPHS schoolhouse open house/education center rededication — May 7
3:30 pm the education center will be named in honor of Dolores Haugh.
August will be Historical Society dedication of school house.
Women's Club 1917 fashion show— May 16 Janice Farley reported that
the program is going well. There are 16-18 outfits from the period. Murphy
offered to take photos.
Memorial Day parade— May 29

V. NEW BUSINESS
VI. OTHER BUSINESS — member roundtable—additional ideas? Comments?
Marianthi July 4, 2017 parade is on the website, asking for participants.
Centennial Commission will have a float. Murphy will ask founding families if they want
to be in parade. And how many participants? Participants will determine size of floats.
Commission would like the Centennial Website to continue being available to users for
its historical significance. Thanopoulos will research cost and Murphy will present to MP
Historical Society Board.
