The meeting convened at 9:00 AM with Mayor Arlene Juracek, Trustee Richard Rogers, Trustee
Paul Hoefert, Trustee William Grossi, Trustee Eleni Hatzis and Trustee Colleen Saccotelli in
attendance. Village Manager Mike Cassady, Fire Chief Brian Lambel and Police Chief Tim
Janowick represented staff. Residents in attendance were:

John & Sue Elenberger, Redwood Drive —congratulated new trustees and thanked all the
mothers. They wanted to know who is responsible for the parkways. Asked why we use the
term forcibly annexed. Mayor Juracek explained it is a legal term. They also asked why we are
picking up all these unincorporated properties. Mayor explained that Cook Country Board of
Commissions President Preckwinkle has an effort to remove unincorporated properties. She
also explained that the EAV will be spread out over the village. Also, being incorporated will also
give better control. The Elenbergers wanted to discuss the parking lot at Golf and 83. Lastly,
wanted to know what MP Cheer Recruiting signs were?
Dan Sullivan, Crestwood — has concerns about the speed of traffic on Crestwood. Chief
Janowick stated he will have officers monitor the area. Mr. Sullivan stated kids distract the
performers at Party in the Park, would like more control.
Joseph & Maria Plata, Wille — had questions about the calendars. The Mayor talked about the
meeting calendar and the app.
Jim Chylik, Locust — had concerns about the speeding on his street. Chief Janowick stated
most enforcement is education.
John Dunnn, Owen — had no issue, was just in attendance.
Louis Goodman, School —stated that we now have a Village Manager that is on the ball.
Jerry Boldt, School — would like to see the fines for blocking the sidewalks in the newsletter.
Mr. Boldt would like to know if School District 57 could hold their board meetings at the Village
Hall so they could be broadcasted. Mr. Cassady will talk with the school district and park
district. Mr. Boldt also mentioned the newspaper article about the Mayor being rude and wanted
to state that he has never found her to be rude.
Teri Archam, Briarwood — she believes her next door neighbor is running an auto shop out of
his house. Mr. Cassady said that the Village is working on it.
Thomas Tezky, School — spoke some poetry. Mr. Tezky also recommended that everyone
should read History of American Banking. Also, he mentioned that there is a puzzle at
Woodfield that is 40,000 pieces.
Vicki Chung, Wille— had no issue, was just in attendance.
Mat Smarsesse, Glenview — was from Patriot Acres, reached out to any questions and gave
their number 847-226-0906.
Bill Millar, Central — is happy to see the islands going in at Golf and Route 83. Mr. Millar wants
to know why are the b-boxes and water lines marked on Weller Ln?
Linda Brady, I-Oka— had no issues, was just in attendance.
Walter and Pat Szymczak, Eastwood — had no issues, was just in attendance.
David Horwitz, Linneman — had no issues, was just in attendance.
Teri Markovitz, Briarwood — has concerns with the stop sign in Lake Briarwood. They would
like reflectors or lights put on the sign.

Jan Kent, Briarwood — wanted to know if there were regulations on surveillance cameras in
town. Chief Janowick stated there are no regulations.
Karen Hamilton, Orchard — has concerns about the growing population of coyotes in town.
She has been told different answers regarding animal control when she has called the village.
Wants us to inform employees with the proper information that there is not and has never been
animal control in town. Chief Janowick explained that the IDNR is the regulation agency over
the coyotes. He also explained that there has only been 2 reported attacks with a death of a
child due to a coyote in the whole United States. Staff reiterated that we cannot do anything
about the coyotes.
Chris Leo, Orchard — spoke that maybe we should get a committee together to create ideas
and solutions about the coyotes.
Larry Hamilton, Orchard — had questions about the train suicide.
Carol Tortorello, Elmhurst Ave — had no issues, was just in attendance.
Craig Iversen, Wille— had no issues, was just in attendance.
David Schein, NaWaTa — spoke about the coyote issues and gave some education about
them.
Rachael Rothrauff, Busse Ave— left the meeting.
Chris Bozonelos, Edward — had no issues, was just in attendance.
Brian Maye, Bonita— had no issues, was just in attendance and is a District 57 member.
Monica Witek, Edward— had no issues, was just in attendance.
Peggy Pissarreck, Waverly — stated she had a friend recently speak at a COW meeting about
ADA problems and solutions that should be made in town. Trustee Hoefert said that staff is
currently examining the ideas. He also talked about the services that are already in the
community. Trustee Hoefert does not feel we need a commission but will look into it. It was
also recommend that the Village puts an article about the Premise Alert Program in the
newsletter.
Linda Hindmand, Owen —thanked Officer Bechtold about her issue and stopped bad drivers.
Mariane Bender, unknown — has concerns regarding the stoplight at 83 and NW Highway.
She feels that the walk signs shouldn't have push buttons and should be auto walk signs. Staff
stated that they are looking into the lights walkways in the downtown area.
Steve & Barb Van Arsdale, CanDota — had no issues, was just in attendance.
Yulia Bjekic, Hi Lusi — is excited to see the Village using Facebook more to get information
out. Had questions about the TIF — is there any information about projects involved with the
TIF? Mike Cassady mentioned the TIF portal. Multiple projects are in the planning mode. More
information would be in the portal. Ms. Bjekic also asked does our police department have de-

escalation training. Chief Janowick mentioned that they have trained in the topic for over 20
years. Their goal is to try and use limited amounts of force.
Antonia Borowski, See Gwun — asked about the 1-90 construction.
Tom Manion, Edward — loves to see democracy in action. Mr. Manion talked about the coyote
issue and Chicago shooting a mountain lion. He also congratulated Mayor Juracek on the
O'Hare Noise Commission. Mr. Manion is happy with the outreach the village is doing.
Ken Koeppen, Linneman — how many people are renting out Airbnb's ?
Unknown Resident — Wanted to know what the definition of disturbing the peace in regards to
a barking dog. Chief Janowick explained that the first line is education to the dog's owner. The
police department will sit and listen but only if they are called out to a site. Resident also asked
how many times it would take to get a citation. Janowick said multiple weeks and notifications.
He said he would talk further with him after the meeting.
Trustee Colleen Saccotelli —spoke about the upcoming Talk and Chalk on June 3,d
There being no further business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned at 11:00 AM.
