I. CALL TO ORDER Murphy called meeting to order at 3:05 pm.
II. ROLL CALL
Present: Sharon Anderson, Alexander Bertolucci, Gerald "Skip" Farley, Janice Farley, Dale
Henricksen, Linda Hoefert, Jean Murphy, Michaele Skowron, Christy Watychowicz, John Zulaski
Members Absent: Leo Floros, Patrick Mogge,
Ex-officio Members Present: None
Ex-officio Members Absent: Mayor Arlene A. Juracek, Marianthi Thanopoulos
Additional Village staff members present: MP Public Works Director Sean Dorsey

III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Jan 4, 2017 minutes were approved at the Jan 25, 2017 meeting.
Skip Farley moved approval of Jan 25, 2017 minutes. Anderson seconded. Motion approved.
III. CITIZENS TO BE HEARD None
IV. OLD BUSINESS
A. Report: Website update—scavenger hunt and church web display - Lindsay Rice
Rice is formatting church information for Centennial website. Stories will be introduced
serially. Scavenger Hunt is live. Readers are participating. Rice is tracking winners. Two
clues are revealed per week. Suggestion to post Public Works facts on website.
B. Report: Anniversary weekend review— Mayor Arlene Juracek, Lindsay Rice, Sharon
Anderson Murphy thanked group for work. The weekend went very well.
C. Report: Budget update—where we stand
The expenses and income were updated through mid-February 2017.
Commission forecasted income/expenses budget is very close to breaking even.
D. Report: Sponsorships update —Skip Farley, Leo Floros, Christy Watychowicz
Displaying the sponsor banner, there will be an educational presence at village
events through the 2017 year. Murphy congratulated Sponsorship Team on an
outstanding job.
E. Report: Second round hydrant painting event— Christy Watychowicz
Discussion on stickers. Watychowicz will pursue underwriting of new stickers.
F. Report: Embracing our Differences events —John Zulaski, Alex Bertolucci
Range of services provided to residents will be listed on Centennial website.
G. Report: Month of family fun events — Sharon Anderson
Anderson submitted MPPD Mardi Gras photos for Centennial website. Bertolucci put together
Centennial Commission entry and was also the judge. Anderson asked for groups' activities so
that she can publicize them.
H. Report: Upcoming events (MPHS, Women's Club, Library) — please bring details
MP Library is sponsoring an operatic event on Tuesday, April 18 at 7:30 pm. Zulaski will obtain
tickets for interested Commission members.
MP Women's Fashion Show is Tues, May 16 at Cotillion for lunch. Ticket is $35.
Dedication of MP School House is Sunday, May 7, 2017 at 1:00 pm. Education Center will be
renamed for Dolores Haugh at 3:00 pm.
Zulaski is working w/St. Raymond's clergy to identify church members who will participate in
an 2018 oral history program.
Anderson reported that the French Market is Sun, Sept. 10 from 8 to 1 pm. Centennial
Commission can distribute postcards with Octoberfest 2017 date, tree lighting, etc.
Sun, July 30 is History Day at the Farmers' Market.
Rice will investigate archival containers for time capsule burial.

A. Brainstorm ideas for time capsule

Randhurst banner
Predictive papers
Chamber book and insert
Coin set
Photo book from Special Event Dinner
Wathychowicz will send suggested list of items for time capsule to commission members.
VI. OTHER BUSINESS — member roundtable—additional ideas? Comments?
Commission members were very complimentary of Central School restoration.
Asked Zulaski to send email to school contacts for any feedback on Centennial activities and
curriculum.
Mt. Prospect Band will present a Centennial Spring concert on April 2, 2017.
Randhurst will have a September street festival.

April 5, 2017—3:00 p.m. —Village Hall Third Floor Conference Room
IX. ADJOURN Skowron moved adjournment at 4:44 pm. Anderson seconded. Motion passed.
