MINUTES
COFFEE WITH COUNCIL
Saturday, July 10, 1993
10:00 a.m.
Trustees Room, Village Hall
Mayor Farley convened the monthly Coffee With Council meeting at 10:00 a.m.
Those present were: Trustees George Clowes, Richard Hendricks, Paul Hoefert,
Michaele Skowron, Irvana Wilks, Village Manager Michael E. Janonis and Fire
Chief Edward M. Cavello.
Residents in attendance were: Ms. Sandy Truesdale of 1633 N. Oneida, Mr. and Mrs.
Jack Fisher of 121 Hi Lusi (253-9396) and Mr. Albert Boldt of 617 School Street.
Ms. Sandy Truesdale questioned where jurisdiction of the Park District Board and
the Village Board started and ended. Her specific concern centered around the usage
hours of a basketball court in her neighborhood. It was explained that a situation of
this type was one of scheduling and would be the responsibility of the Park District.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Fisher discussed a problem they were having with stray cats in
their backyard. They complained of cats killing birds that use the bird feeder in their
yard. The couple suggested that the rules currently in place for dogs be applied to
cats. Mayor Farley shared this concern and Trustee Skowron stated she had similar
experiences in her yard and agreed that this issue be addressed. Mayor Farley stated
that now might be the time to address it and directed Staff to gather necessary
information. Trustee Clowes cautioned that an ordinance may not be the answer. It
may cause an enforcement problem.

Truster Hendricks brought up the issue of striping the crosswalks at the Mount
Pros pet `'laza. After repeated promises, this still has not been done. Discussion
followed ori the overall traffic flow in the plaza. Staff was asked to look into the
matter-wi4he?,possibility of the Village doing the striping.
Trustee Wilks discussed with situation that exists in the rear yard of a family
residenH"on Lancaster. They have an excessive amount of standing water in the
rear of their yard and are unable to use their swing set. It was mentioned that drain
tile may have been damaged by Commonwealth Edison. Again, Staff will be
assigned to look into this matter.
The meeting was adjourned at 11:45 p.m.
