AGENDA
DOWNTOWN STRATEGY SESSION
MONDAY, JULY 23, 1990
ACQUISITION OF PROPERTY STATUS:
Staff has had further discussions with Prospect Auto Body, Norb Huecker Service
Station and the owner of the house at 15 South Wille. Our appraiser has begun
work on these parcels. A productive meeting has been held with the owner of the
theatre. The Village Manager will have a report for the Board on this acquisition.
II. MARKETING RECONNAISSANCE:
Staff is working with Camiros Consultants to develop a community survey that will
help identify existing and potential markets for uses in the area to be redeveloped.
Necessary background information is being updated by consultant and staff in
order to provide accurate assessment of existing markets for office, retail and
residential.
III. INITIAL DISCUSSION WITH INTERESTED DEVELOPERS:
A letter was sent to over thirty potential developers. From this list, six developers
have made contact indicating an interest to discuss downtown redevelopment
further.
Staff has met with the Shires Group, Ben Trapani, and Peter Tsolinas of TMA
Group. Within the next week, we plan on meeting with Dick Baldwin from Nordon,
Norm Katz from Rescorp, and Jay Hedges from the Alter Group.
IV. PUBLIC SAFETY BUILDING UPDATE:
The Village Manager will present an update on the Public Safety Building planning
and design.
