A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE EMPLOYEE PERSONNEL MANUAL
OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT
WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect desires to amend Section VI, Compensation and
Benefits, letters B and Q, of the Employee Personnel Manual for the Village of Mount
Prospect effective January 1, 2017; and
WHEREAS, the Employee Personnel Manual outlines the rules, regulations, benefits and
conditions of employment that applies to Village employees; and
WHEREAS, the Employee Personnel Manual has been amended to include an additional
holiday for Regular Non-union Employees and an increase to longevity pay for Regular Full-
time Non-union Employees; a copy of Section VI, letters B and Q, is attached hereto and
hereby made a part of this Resolution as Exhibit "A".
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: The Employee Personnel Manual is hereby amended by adding Christmas
Eve as a Village Holiday for Regular Non-union Employees and an increase to Longevity Pay
for Regular Full-time Non-union Employees by $200.00 per continuous years' of service in five
(5) year increments, and that this manual is hereby adopted as the Employee Personnel
Manual of the Village of Mount Prospect.
SECTION TWO: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage and approval in the manner provided by law.

SECTION VI. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
B. Holidays:
1. Regular Non-union Employees will observe the following Holiday schedule. During
these days, all municipal buildings will be closed for regular business except for the
Police Desk.

2. Public Works Union Employees will observe the following Holiday schedule.

Q. Longevity Pay:
1. This benefit is provided to eligible full-time employees for recognition of extended
years of service with the Village. Longevity Pay is paid annually on the first payroll
in December based on the total continuous years of full-time service, as calculated
from the employee's anniversary date of employment. Employees must complete
the required years of service by December 31 of each year to be eligible for the
December payment.
2. In all cases, the employee must be currently employed with the Village as of
December 31 of each year to be eligible for Longevity Pay. There will be no pro-
rating of Longevity Pay for partial years of service that is completed.
