These residents showed up to voice their concerns regarding the proposed residential development
at the southeast corner of Wolf and Kensington Roads. They had attended the public hearing in Des
Plaines regarding this matter on January 9th and had several concerns with the mariner in which it
was discussed. They inquired into what the Village had done regarding this project.
Mayor Farley informed the residents that the Village has had several discussions with the City of
Des Plaines regarding this matter and that the Village has some significant concerns with the
proposal. In addition, legal staff is investigating the Village's authority with requiring a fifty foot
dedication on the south half of the Kensington Road right-of-way. Staff has also contacted
Commonwealth Edison to alert them of the proposed retention basin within their easement. The Des
Plaines Zoning Board has approved a preliminary plan conditioned upon the resolution of many of
these issues. Staff will be meeting with representatives from Des Plaines to further review these
issues and ensure that our concerns are addressed. The Mayor informed the residents that they
would be notified when this matter would be discussed by the Des Plaines City Council to ensure
their representation.
The meeting was adjourned at 11:00 a.m.
Respectfully submitted,
William J. ooney, Jr.
Director of Community Development
